Fender Precision bass copy. Relic'd

Hi.

I have a black Precision bass for sale.

The bass itself is not a real Fender. I have added a 1960's style decal to the headstock, and lightly lacquered over it.

It's really chunky, and feels really very good for a Fender copy. There is a lot of weight in it, and the neck has a nice manly radius.

The body had a few dings in it when I got it, so I decided that I was going to make it into a relic project.

I have made the bass look older by some light sanding, taking some chips out of the lacquer, and by spraying the pickguard with tinted lacquer.

The neck is a 2 piece (what seems to be maple), but because it's not a real Fender, I'm not sure what else it might be. The wood is a lovely orangey natural colour, that goes well with the desired "aged" look. The nut and the frets protrude from the neck a tiny bit more than I would like, but I guess this could be corrected.

The pickups sound pretty beefy, and there is definitely a nice range in tone. Alternatively, replacement pickups would fit this bass fine.

I'm not trying to say that this bass is amazing, but it certainly looks cool, and could be further worked on as a project.

I used it in an amateur production of We Will Rock You a few weeks ago, and it sounded great with my pressure-wound strings, and a bit of welly from my VT pedal.

For some reason, it's saying that the attachment space is used up for photos...but I haven't uploaded any yet...so I'll figure that out

£170 (plus £15 if you want it posted. I live in Brighton.)

Host your pics at photobucket or whatevr... it's better for the forum servers. :)
