At some point I'd like to get a maple neck for my 1995 Asat bass. I've had a quick look in all the obvious places but nothing has turned up yet. Did anyone here ever get one from G&L? How much would that be? Any special dealers who stock up on necks? (long shot, I know) To be honest I'm not 100% certain that this bass is a keeper, but I'll probably modify to see if I can enhance some of the features I do like. dub_junkie Posted February 24, 2008 Share Posted February 24, 2008 If none of the fellas here who play G&L can help,I'd mooch about the G&L bass forum at Talkbass or badassbassplayers and ask questions there, I believe one of the guys from G&L posts at BABP. Failing that you could try the distributors here FCN Music or a retailer like peach ideas or Hartnoll guitars I'm pretty sure that if you're looking for another neck you'll have to return the old one cheers Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

They would also have to tool up to do a 3 bolt neck (they've moved over to 6 bolt for Asats now IIRC), so I think it would be very expensive. You might find someone willing to do a neck swap, but frankly you're better off selling the bass you have and buying one with a maple neck, IMO.
