Im currently using a Hofner Contemporary Violin Bass and also a Tokai Jazz Sound through a Ampeg BA115hpt. i use a Ashdown FS-Drive plus overdrive pedal and also a Boss CEB3 Chorus pedal. also a behringer tuner pedal(just looking for a quick buy). could someone also recomend any decent pedals aswell? my main influences as a bass player would have to be Paul Mccartney,John Entwistle , Matt Freeman. all great bass players. i was wondering if anyone knew of any guitar shops online that stocked Hofner Bass strings?, i know they are not cheap but im having trouble trying to find a shop in England that do them. Cat Burrito Posted June 12, 2011 Share Posted June 12, 2011 Welcome - you'll struggle with Hofner strings I'm afraid. They may have to be a special order or Thomann may do them mail order. I put Rotosound Trubass on my violin bass as that was what McCartney did. There is also a Hofner bass forum if you google it and they may be more help.
