73Jazz
Someone offered me an old Echolette top 12 (from 1968), which is some kind of special edition of the AKG d12 made for Echolette. I don`t know that mic, so does anyone have experience with that mic? It seems to be more usual for bass drum i think.
Bankai
Looked at your link and my german speaking abilities tell me that this wouldn't be right for bass cabs at all. It's basically AKG's version of the Shure 55SH (The classic silver microphone used by Elvis). Designed for vocals and spoken word only really. Bankai
Would recommend either an e602 II or alternatively a D112 personally.
Monckyman
The 421s are offered regularly in clubs for Micing bass cabs and can sound very nice but IMO they sound better on Rack toms and Floors. As above the D112 is a classic Kick mic and I work with a band that has one permanently mounted in their kick for the last 12 years but they sound great on bass also. Just try to angle it so it picks up as little spill from the rest of the stage. My fave for bass mics is a Shure beta52. MM
