Jazz balance/blend

Lo all, I would like to change my contol setup to Vol/blend/tone on my two jazz basses and have researched it a fair bit and come up with ,
A/ Bourns 500k from Allparts
Or
B/Alpha 500k from AxesRus
The chatter online is Bourns, but they are out of stock at the mo.
Is the difference worth waiting for ?
Also, the vibe seems to be to earth the pickups somewhere other then the lugs on the blend pot to give an "unloaded" series type earthing when blending.
Apparently it "pans" smoother between pickups.
Any experience of this?
Anyone gone Vol/ blend/tone and hating it?
Ta in advance.
MM

I've got this configuration (volume/blend/tone) on my Blade and I love it. It's great for doing volume swells with one pickup "backed off" slightly - which is practically impossible with two independent volume controls.

My own feeling is that a pot is just a pot.
It provides a resistance that varies as the knob is turned.
If it was going into something that was moving constantly (or a lot) whilst playing (a volume\expression pedal or a wah wah) then it might be worth using a higher quality pot.
The reality is that bass controls are rarely used whilst playing and are always set 'by ear' and I've never really understood the predeliction for super duper pots.

All the earths go back to a single point on a JB - the sleeve on the jack socket.
With the distances involved (a matter of inches) then it really wont make an audible difference.
