I have up for sale my beautiful, very rare, solid Koa Peavey RSB USA Bass Serial Number 06080517.
This bass has some real unique history to it and has served me faithfully for around 15 years, playing in and around Northampton.
Koa became an endangered and protected tree and this being solid Koa it has a tone that you would die for! And I believe that a solid body of either bass or guitar just will not be available ever again.
It has been played by me in many a gig, as it should and not left to just hang on a wall, so over the years various scrapes and knocks have appeared on its neck and body, but the bass still has all of the original components that it had when it was manufactured in the USA, there have not been any repairs or modifications at all. It still retains its natural beauty and I have kept the wood oiled continuously whilst being on the road.
The neck is thinner than a standard Fender jazz and the neck radius makes playing a complete dream and so easy that you don't even realize that you are playing it.
A great bass at agreat price £599......now £399

Now for the history, It began life in the USA, being made for the launch of the RSB Bass into the European market. It was shipped to the UK and then began its grand tour all over Europe being shown at all of the musical instrument exhibition events.
After its grand tour it was eventually claimed by Peavey UK and placed in their Hall of Fame showrooms at Corby Northamptonshire.
I obtained the bass direct from Peavey as a good will gesture when my order for having one made was cancelled by the American factory and it looked like no more would be produced, so the MD at the time offered this one to my wife instead and what a lucky bass player I was.

Yea man........I just can't get with it at all, I have checked it out and yea, it could do with a decent setup but I just can't go any lower, I wish I could as you sound like you would appreciate this beautiful piece of history. Still, the way things are going I may just keep it and find some time to set her up again! Thanks for your comment, it's really appreciated.

Hello all out there, I've decided that I will place this beautiful bass up for sale just one last time then if I does not sell I will be keeping it and having a go (With some help I hope) to modify it for use as a fretless and also upgrade the RSB with a new pre amp so all of the original features will be gone forever...........shame really as this has some real pedigree and I understand that the current market is certainly a 'buyers market' but can't leave it hanging on the wall doing nothing man and not being appreciated. So there you have it,I think around 3 weeks is a good time for considering the sale so if you need any further information at all please do get in touch and I will do my best to help in anyway possible........it really is such a beautiful bass...........

Gary
