DR Neon coated strings, anyone tried them?

I tried some Black Beauties and some of the black came off pretty quickly with a pick, though not enough to make a difference visually. Haven't tried Neons though.

The BBs didn't seem that different to standard roundwounds, but then I mostly use flats.

In a nutshell, they sound nice and look crazy. :) The coating's supposed to be much more hard-wearing than the previous generation of coloured strings too.

I'm double-loathe to drop the money on a set as they only come in 45-105, and I'm a '40s man (DR say they have no immediate plans to do other gauges)

I bought a set whilst half pissed bumming around on Ebay, could have got them cheaper if i bought them from one of the Yank Bayers but inc postage a set of green ones cost me just shy of 30 quid, ive put them on the shitiest bass i have to see if it sounded better(cheapo Marlin P),they definatley sounded better than the stock ones Marlin use(wouldnt be hard)...........as for worth 30 quid i dunno :unsure
