neck adjustment & tuning

i posted this a few months ago over on another forum but would like to hear more thoughts or ideas,

i have a standard 4 string Corvette Rock bass & looking into the idea of using the 4 low strings of a 5 string set but only tuned to D,E,A.D, & as the 5 string gauge of string is usually to be tuned B,E,A,D.G would this require any neck adjustment

yep thats what i figured..& the corvette has no changeable nut,its an integral part of the headstock (just one downside of this model)

Ermm if I were you id let a luthier sort it for you, just need the right files to widen the slots, then a general set up to finish it off. I can't see it costing too much.
