moogmusic Posted October 21, 2010 Share Posted October 21, 2010 Hi, As a guitarist who's newly playing the bass for a mate, I've got a compression question: I have a Boss CS-3 and was going to use it as a compressor for my bass but would I be better getting hold of an LMB-3. cheddatom Posted October 21, 2010 Share Posted October 21, 2010 Have you read the thread on compressors IE do you know how they work? A limiter is a very specific form of compression. Personally I would find the LMB3 over the CS-3 if I HAD to make a choice, but that's for bass AND guitar! What is the effect you're trying to acheive? fxpedal.co.uk Posted October 22, 2010 Share Posted October 22, 2010 The LMB-3 works far better on bass than the CS-3. And, despite its name, it's more of a compressor than a limiter. nick Posted October 23, 2010 Share Posted October 23, 2010 Another option if you want to keep the CS-3 is to get it modded. I did the [url="http://www.ovnilab.com/reviews/bosscs3.shtml"]Ovnilab mod[/url] to one I had - totally transformed it.
