Problems with an OC3

Hello and welcome to my post! Have a cup of tea, you've already read quite a lot.

Better? Good. To Business!

I have an OC3 I got off gumtree. I love it, it sounds great. I have, however, been having problems with it.

1) It seems to eat up battery power. A couple of gigs and it's gone.
2) I had it in a boss pedal board a while ago, so plugged into the mains, and occasionally this thing would happen where all the sound stopped and I started getting an intermittent click/quiet pop noise every second or so. At the time I put it down to the board but could it be the pedal?

So my questions are as follows:
1) Does it drain power when plugged in but not switched on?
2) Could the pedal board glitch and the battery eating be down to some component in the pedal?
3) Anyone had this kind of problem before with this or any other Boss single?

Not sure about the pedal board problem, However I have found that if theres a cable in both the input and output of the pedal it drains the power. Regardless if the cables are connected to anything else such as the amp.

My advice is if your not using the pedals make sure they arnt plugged into anything.

Some boss products do tend to eat battery life though, not sure about single effects but my multi effects did, aswell as my friends micro recorder.

New development: changed the battery and now there is nothing but a brief flash of life as the cable goes in! There's life in the old girl, but it's being bypassed somewhere. The mystery continues. I have heard Boss are very hard to get any info out of as well. La di da

Pretty much any battery-operated pedal (or similar) is "switched on" by plugging in an INPUT jack.

This includes on-board pre-amps with active basses, so never leave your (active) bass plugged in either.

The OC3 eats batteries, think it is common to digital pedals. Best with a power supply, not come across other problems. I'd guess the switching jack is failing, also seen on other boss pedals, its a funny jack that won't replace easily, probably have to hardwire it to on and use a power supply.

Noticed you're in Bristol.
