I've got a JV '57 precision -had it since new (made in '83 I think I got it very early '85- still got the green box it came in!) . It's all original -I don't tend to mess about). It's Fiesta red - not sure why I chose that colour - maple neck. It's my favourite bass I've had ,although some could be argued to be better quality. It's fairly light & manageable & can take a real pounding . As with a lot of basses theese probably do go for silly prices. Ironic really when I suppose a lot of people bought them because they were much more affordable than a "real "Fender.
