Markbass CMD 102p 2x10 Bass Combo £500

Collection from West Newcastle or I can potentially deliver if I’m passing your area. I’m open to other delivery/collection solutions if you have any. 

We’ve just moved house and this is a little too big for our new music room. I bought this in Jan 2016 and used it for about 9 months before making the switch to IEMs. Since then I’ve used it for the occasional non IEM gig or rehearsal or left it safely in my music room. 

It’s in good condition, I’ve photographed any knocks and the corner protectors are a little scuffed but hey, that’s what they’re for right? It sounds great, very clear with a powerful EQ section. It’s never been cranked, all of my gigs have the bass through FOH so it’s really been used as a very nice monitor.  

Comes with a Roqsolid cover with very tasteful yellow seams and a big pocket on the front for cables etc (rrp £65)

The more aggressive tone of the 10” speakers means you can often get by just with this combo, but it does also stack with any 8 ohm Traveler or Standard cab, for more volume and headroom.

I bought an Ampeg Pf50t from @Chimike at a fantastic price. Not only did he provide great technical advice but also arranged for a fellow basschatter (many thanks @Davebassics who was there to buy a Pf20t and matching 112) to transport the amp from Chichester to Newcastle. It’s a very serendipitous story which I won’t relay in full here.

I decided to play through a great Pino Palladino bassline the other day.

I'm using my beautiful Fender Masterbuilt Precision bass with Thomastik Flatwounds straight into Logic X and then using the Avalon DI Emulator for a bit of drive.

 Then the Vintage Opto compressor 'Teletronix LA-2A emulator' and the Studio FET compressor 'UREI 1176 emulator' for some nice serial compression and a bit of EQ.

I tried my best to nail the Pino tone so this will sound better with headphones or speakers

I have one of these. It's like riding a bike after a long while off (saddle sore/painful arse). After a few gigs your right arm will get used to it. Don't let the body shape put you off buying one of these great sounding basses! (Seller, I would give it a month or so before selling this on)
