  1. Decent enough synth pedal to experiment with. Some usable sounds there. Check out the online vids.

Just got a Future Impact so this is surplus to requirements. In the interest of full disclosure, the foot switch works best if switched with, well, your foot as it requires a firm push. Pressing it with your hand can be temperamental.

    £35 delivered to mainland UK.

Another pedal that I've had great success with for this "close enough for a gig" approach is the old Digitech Bass Synth Wah. It tracks very well (actually better than the C4) and has a great thick tone. They can be a little low in output but if blended with some clean using a LS-2 the level of that loop can be boosted a little to match.

Damn, I had one for a while and sold it.  Didn't have anything I could use it on.  Serves me right....

"Close enough for a gig" is what I'm after.

  3. My band are doing Chaka Khan's Ain't Nobody. Using a bit of fuzz is OK but just not the same.  I'm playing it on a downtuned (Eb) 4 string, so adding octave just sounds weird (and doesn't track) on the intro/main verse riff.

I bought a Behringer BSY600 to try a synth but after a couple of hours trying different settings, I can't even get close to it.  One of the main issues is has a 'rate' which can be turned down but not off completely.  I just need it to have the same consistent sound not fluctuate.

Can anyone help me out with what pedal and settings would get me in the ball park.  Don't want to spend a huge amount on the pedal.

  4. I have the pleasure of starting DaveG555's feedback thread.

I met up with him to purchase his Sandberg SL TM4 bass.  It was exactly has described and I ended up purchasing it.

His communication throughout was spot on and, as we are fairly far apart, arranging to get over to his took a bit of juggling.  Most importantly, he is an exceptionally nice chap.  Even took me to the pub after for a swift half.  Now that's class.

    Thoroughly, thoroughly recommended.

  5. Versatile and surprisingly good quality bass. Ceramic pickups are high output and is one of those rare cases where the bridge pup can keep up with the neck one, giving it a funky growly tone.

the preamp is also surprisingly good and the whole thing has loads of usable tones.

very light at just under 3.16kg. With the upper horn extending so far, there is very little in the way of neck dive either. I hardly noticed any with a thick padded strap.

a few dinks here and there, nothing too noticeable from the front.

£150 collected, or £175 delivered to UK mainland.

  6. Bought used off eBay from the US a little while ago, for a lightweight p bass project (body also for sale). Try as I might I could not get a low action.  It is not bowed either way and trussrod works fine in both directions. Relief set to flat at the moment. Tried to see if there’s a warp (twist) using a not very scientific method spirit level but results are inconclusive.

This neck should be considered as ‘spares or repair’.

I could take it to my tech but have neither the time nor inclination for projects right now.

old tuner screw holes (roughly) filled in with wood filler and has ‘used’ stamped on the back of the headstock.

Front of headstock has gloss finish but the rest is satin and has a nice grain to the wood.

weight is an incredibly light 690g, which should eliminate neck dive.

    £50 delivered, less if collected.

  7. Used white PJ body, Squier affinity. Black Pickguard included. Pretty good condition, most notable thing is a chip by the neck pocket that I’ve coloured in with a white ink pen, and a scratch where the tone knob is. The finish under the scratch plate is not as shiny as the rest of it but can’t be seen when pickguard is on.

Neck pocket has been sanded around the inside by the looks of it.

pickguard still has protective film on.

Best part is that the body on its own is just under 2kg.

price posted is £125 OVNO in mainland UK. Or you can collect for a discount.

  8. Classic series, unsure of actual model as I can’t make it out on the label.

8 ohms and between 15-17kg. Can find out along with dimensions.

2 combo speakon/ Jack socket auto link to another cab.

a few scrapes here and there and rust on corner protectors and grille but in otherwise good condition. Rubber feet added to side as well.

would prefer collection from home in East Herts or work in West Herts.

    £75 collected o.v.n.o.
