The point that's been made is that we shouldn't need to go searching online (no matter how long it takes) when it would take the advertiser a couple of seconds to include the important points.

Yes I agree..If it was a major act I'd  make the effort but for this, I doubt it

We are looking for a double bass to join our jazz sextet near Basingstoke, Hants. Ideally familiar with Real Books and enjoy playing improvised jazz from 30s to 60s.

The band is trumpet, tenor, alto, guitar, (bass) and drums.  Occasional paid gigs and resident band at monthly jam.

Please contact me for more info.

  3. Hi

My John East J retro 1 has been amazing up until last week and I'm still not sure if its the jack socket or the pre-amp

    Problems

    1) The passive switch  now no longer works

    2) When the volume control is turned all the way up volume disappears.

Anybody else encounter the same problem ?

  4. "They were absolutely fantastic, bringing the entire audience roaring to its feet." Telegraph

Peggy Lee was one of the great figures of jazz and American popular song, with a career spanning six decades. Sinatra called her 'regal'; Duke Ellington called her 'the queen'. She wrote and sang for Disney's Lady And The Tramp and had a string of hits stretching from her early days with Benny Goodman until the 1990s.

In this wonderful show, jazz vocalist Jo Harrop pays tribute to the sultriest songstress of all, delivering moving renditions of classics such as Fever, Why Don't You do Right and The Folks Who Live On The HIll. Featuring Alex Webb on piano, Paul Francis on bass, Joel Prime on drums and special guest Tony Kofi on alto sax

  6. Hi I was looking for a foot switch for a Genz shuttle head ,which I was lead to believe had been discontinued.I became a little confused regarding The Current Genz Benz Amps website, it seems to indicate that the older Shuttle series of amps are currently available as there is no wording to indicate otherwise  http://www.genzbenz.com   or is the webpage just giving out support  info for the older models ?

    Cheers Paul F

  7. I've been looking for a back up amp as tempting fate cant last forever. I had my mind set on a trace Eliot elf or possibly the Mark Bass Ninja or Augilars Tone hammer purely because of their size ,but the TC BQ500 range is  now looking like a likely candidate.Small, light 500 watts and real cheap and no additional features (common to previous TCs ) They are advertised as transparent amps with a tone that can be moulded by your outboard gear....with 1 addition the thrust compressor. I'm also hoping that as with my last TC there isn't the need for a computer wiz to repair it due to the nature of the computerised chips in the old BH heads. If anyone has any personal experience /info on these i'd love to hear about it

    Thanks Paul F
