  1. I own a TRB5Pii (in Bubinga) and can testify to just how awesome these basses are. All the tones are in there with the added bite that the piezo gives if required. I've never come across any other bass that has as solid a feel as these things have. Quality all the way! I toyed with the idea of selling mine a few months ago as it wasn't getting used as often as it should but couldn't bring myself to part with it. New, these are retailing at £2200+

Have a free bump on me Stan and good luck with the sale.

  3. I bought a TRB5P2 around 5 years ago with the bubinga finish. List price at the time was £2169 but I go it in a sale for around £1600 new. List price now is £2869 but most places have them up for £2249 (GAK, Soundslive etc).

I was toying with the idea of selling or part ex to fund a 4 string Stingray but, looking at what they are fetching on the second hand market, I decided to keep the TRB5, save up and add the Stingray to the collection. (I ended up buying an American Jazz deluxe but that's another story). There was a TRB5P2 up on fleabay a month or so ago with a starting price of £800 and it didn't get 1 bid! Madness!!

Anyway, i've no regrets - I would have been mad to let this baby go - it's the best bass i've ever had the pleasure of playing and I count myself as being very fortunate to own 2 fantastic basses (IMHO). I still get a buzz everytime I open the case and get her out.

  4. I've got one of these combos - great sounding, loud, punchy little amp with an awesome tone. Used to use this for monitoring on stage whilst taking a signal out to the P.A. Didn't really need to for volume but it helped with the overall sound balance with the rest of the band. We've decided, to minimise set up time, to just use the P.A. as a vocal P.A. and push the backline a bit more. The walkabout is more than capable of handling this increase in volume, but I decided I also wanted the extension cab that goes with this - pushes a bit more air, deeper tone, looks great and it's bloody loud! Big John had the extension cab for sale with this amp a couple of weeks ago on this very forum. I was a bit jittery about buying as the cab was in Belgium and i'd never imported from abroad before. I am pleased to report that the experience couldn't have gone better. Loads of communication and delivery within a week. If you fancy the amp, don't be put off by it being located on the conkinonk - Big John is a pleasure to deal with. You won't be disappointed!
