1. Mesa Big Block 750 for sale with drive footswitch and accompanying cable. [s]£750[/s] Now £700. This is a fantastic sounding hybrid amp with an 8 stage tube preamp + tone circuit. It can get big warm tones, whilst being a lot lighter than something like an SVT. The drive channel can do some pretty huge rock tones, but the regular channel can clean up nicely when laying off the gain for a tighter sound. The EQ has both passive and active mid controls for a lot of flexibility. They're around £2000 new: http://gak.co.uk/en/...block-750/53057 It's been serviced by John Kelly (official Mesa tech in the UK and of Kelly Amps fame), as one of the input jacks was knocked a little while back. It's in fully working order and has not been gigged since. Collection or meeting around London is preferred, though would consider posting if desired (with all the usual costs/risks!) Feel free to ask any questions. Thanks! 2. Met Otis in person to trade basses - great guy, super friendly and I'm very happy with the bass. Thanks!
3. As tempting as it is, I'm mostly looking for a meaty humbucker / switching type bass rather than a jazz at the moment (though preferably a sale). Thanks for the offer though!
4. Thanks all Ideally I'm looking to sell, but I could probably be tempted by modern/meaty/growly sounding 5 strings such as a Musicman Sterling 5 HH, G&L L-2500, Dingwall Combustion, or something along those lines?
5. Hi all, I'm looking to sell my BB2025X as I've accumulated rather more instruments than I "need", and I already have a BB5000 that satisfies my BB lust (for now...). Fantastic instrument that to my ears does bigger, meatier Fender-esque tones. The bridge pup sounds thicker and less honky than a standard J, and the P has all the qualities of a regular P enhanced: full bodied low end, tonnes of thump, can get very aggressive or very warm and textured. Super-charged version of classic tones. The neck has a really nice finish that makes shifting around feel super smooth. The fingerboard has a fairly flat/shallow radius, and the neck profile is slim and elegant making it one of the nicest necks I've ever played. The width at the nut is ~4.2cm. 34" scale. There's some very light scratching / buckle rash on the back which I've tried to show in the pics - it only really shows up under a bright light at the just right angle, but thought it best to mention. These are well over £2000 new! Includes the original Yamaha hard case (one of the four clasps doesn't work however). Currently strung with a set of D'Addario EXL170-5TPs. Collection from London is preferred, though would consider posting if you're happy to incur the costs (and risks!) Cheers
6. I have a very similar Bacchus 5-string as my main bass - this is an absolute steal at this price.
7. I traded basses with Kieran and it couldn't have been smoother. Good comms, easy to chat to, and all round great guy. Would happily deal with again!
8. I had the B2M for a bit - I found I got the best results by pitching the synth down an octave and playing an octave higher on the bass. The tracking and latency were a lot better playing higher notes on the bass, but the synth pitch still comes out the same. Also, I found a darker sound worked well too. I basically tried to make the output of the bass sound as similar to a sine wave as I could by playing nearer the neck, using a softer touch, and rolling the tone pot down. I've since switched to the I2M, but use it in a similar fashion. Fun gadgets for sure
9. Thanks all I have a bit of time left in Japan, so will see if the GAS ends up strong enough to merit the hassle! Nippon Airways are apparently quite instrument friendly (or were), but getting it posted seems like an appealing option - less bags to lug to the airport. Cheers
10. Hi all, I'm wondering if anyone has any experience buying a bass abroad and bringing it back to the UK? I played a beautiful Atelier-Z today, but getting it back on the plane seems like a potential debacle. A little brief googling suggests it's a gamble as to whether the crew will stow it in the cabin. What happens if they can't? Also, do I need worry about import VAT or customs duty? I'm flying with Virgin Atlantic (operated by Nippon Airways) if that's of any use! Many thanks!
11. Edit: Withdrawn as it's now in storage until mid April Great sounding hybrid head with an 8 stage tube preamp. These are around £2000 new: http://www.gak.co.uk...block-750/53057 Selling as I'm leaving the country for a few months and having a clear out. Ideally, collection would be from SE London before the 28th January. It's been serviced by John Kelly (official Mesa tech in the UK), as one of the input jacks was knocked a little while back. It's in fully working order and has not been gigged since! Includes the footswitch and accompanying cable. Not looking for trades (though I could probably be tempted by part-ex towards an Axe-FX II or Fafner II) Feel free to ask any questions. Thanks!
