    Purchased from a fellow BC'er only several months ago here we have my Toby 6....

    The bass is thru neck [maple and wenge construction w/ rosewood board] with maple wings, in cherry red. Fitted with new bridge [the originals are meant to be cack - yes, the stock bridge was absolute garbage! and the preamp is an EMG BQS 3-band eq. The string spacing at the bridge is 16mm and 10mm at the nut. It weighs 10lbs.

    This is a fantastic bass to play and a has a great deal of tones that can be dialed in with ease....

    Action fantastic, playability is great, (even with my stubby sausage fingers lol).

    New set of Rotosounds fitted..(it's all i could find at the time lol).

    The only reason for sale is, an absolute childhood yearning for a Musicman Stingray..

    Little dink on the top horn, but otherwise very good condition.

    Hartke hiss and loss of power...

    I'll keep this as breif as possible.....

    Hartke 3500 amp, 4.5XL cab, 115XL cab, all at 8 ohms.

    Anyway, last night i was only running through the 4.5 cab, volume level 2...

    I was trying out an OBD 3 pedal, connected via a Korg tuner, dbx parametric equaliser and TC comp/gate (all rack mount).

    When i pressed the pedal i had a serious amount of hiss..ok, i half expected this!

    Tried to adjust the TC unit to cut down on the hiss....No such luck!

    Dissconected all other units and connected bass directly to amp.

    Checked all leads, and batts in bass....still got the hissing and quite a severe loss of power!

    I have turned the amp upto 9 and it doesn't even rattle the windows...lol.

    Tried the amp solely through the 115 cab and it acts exactly the same.

    So, im thinking amp and not cabs dead...

    Cant really hook it up and cross reference it with anything else until next Monday's rehearsal..

    Also had a quick look inside the amp, could'nt see any obvious schorch marks or blown components,...valve also looked intact. Didn't have time to check for dry joints.

    Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.......

    Does anyone know of any UK internet sites where i might be able to get my hands on a couple of sets of stacked knobs????...( i know, i said knobs twice now!).

    Err....i hear green basses are really unpopular this week and everyone wants to be seen with Amber burst basses! honest! :rolleyes:

    Just picked up a Tobias pro 6 off Jonathan, very happy with transaction, more than happy with the Tobias!

    Nice chap to deal with, would defiantly deal with again.
