1. SOLD! Hi, I am selling my Gibson Les Paul Bass. It was made at the Gibson Nashville Plant, TN, USA, on May 9th 1995. Body and neck are mahogany, fingerboard is unbound ebony with mother of pearl block inlays. There is a cream binding around the top of the body which is finished in Tobacco sunburst which is a fade from deep black to tinted natural. It is the pre 97 Les Paul with no 3-way pickup selector switch on the front. It is similar to the one played by Meshell Ndegeocello on the famous Arsenio Hall Show video where she plays Let's Work by Prince. All original. It has a Warwick bridge. Pickups are Gibson humbuckers. The bass is well used; it is covered in dings and scratches pretty much everywhere except the front of the body so it actually looks pretty clean when you're playing. Back of the neck is scratched through the finish in a few places but doesn't affect playing. No neck breaks or fixes, it's a great neck, very fast and easy to get around. It's narrow like a Jazz bass but has that round baseball bat feel like a 75 P-bass. This is not a light bass, around 10/10.5 lbs. Not the heaviest Gibson I have felt though, still manageable and well balanced. It's solid mahogany and feels like it, not for the slipped disc people this one. Case is a bit battered but does the job. Proper Les Paul case with magenta silk lining like the guitar ones. Strap buttons are from Schaller straplocks, I don't have the originals I'm afraid. Here's a video of the bass in action so you can hear what it sounds like (unfortunately not available on mobile devices): https://www.youtube....h?v=dLdjEEeJvxg This one is audio only but was also this bass: https://www.youtube....h?v=xMTGZcc3jNw NOW SOLD! Looking for £800. Trades I might be interested in would be a lined fretless Precision or a lined fretless Stingray. The bass is pickup only, it's at a lockup in Staples Corner or I'm based in Finchley, North London. Nice one, all the best Ben
2. Still available, bargain at £1250. Can't find another Custom Classic online under 1500.
3. PS I'm also selling a superb Fender CS Jazz if you're looking for an absolutely perfect bass to put this in: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/272863-fender-custom-shop-custom-classic-jazz-4-3tsbtortoiseshell/ buy both and maybe we can knock a bit off
4. SOLD Hi I am selling a brand new John East J-Retro 01 Deluxe Preamp. It has a chrome control plate and black knobs. I tried to have Martin at The Gallery fit it to my 71 Jazz but the cavity on the old bass was too tight and it wouldn't fit. So here it is! Controls are as J-retro (Master, PU Pan, Bass boost, Treble boost/cut, Mid boost/cut and Mid Freq sweep, active/passive switch, everything flat preset switch) but with the addition of a VTC passive tone knob which is a tone control that affects the entire sound post EQ even in active. Includes instructions. I left the original box at the shop so I will package it as pictured in a D'addario Fedex cardboard box. The sound of this thing is as good as it gets. Got them in a couple of other basses and can't recommend the unit enough. £120 delivered, UK only. Or come and pick it up if you're in N London, I can do Staples Corner or Finchley. Nice one, all the best Ben SOLD
5. Thanks for your nice comments. Gonna give it another week then I'm going to try eBay.
6. No longer for sale here, cheers. Ben Hi everyone. I'm selling my Fender Custom Shop Custom Classic Jazz 4-string bass in 3-Tone Sunburst with Tortoiseshell scratchplate. I'm only selling it as I pretty much always use a 5 these days so this one hasn't been getting much use. Includes original Fender hard case, hangtag, truss rod tool, Fender cloth, sticker and owner's manual and the CS Certificate which states manufacture date as 04/05/07. The bass has the original Fender "Noiseless" pickups and active preamp. I'm guessing it's identical to the pre from the old Deluxe Jazz from that time, certainly looks like it. Controls are Vol, pickup pan, bass/treble boost/cut stacked and mid boost/cut. There's no passive on\off switch, this one is active only. The bass is in great condition for its age. Front and back are pretty much spotless and the neck is a beauty. Not sure if it's an Ash or Alder body. Only noticeable wear is near the bottom strap button where there are some fine scratches which I've tried to show in the photos. Neck is maple with Pau Ferro fretboard, both with gorgeous grain. The maple looks like it's going to age with a nice flame, it's already pretty stripy in the right light. I do not know the exact weight but this is not a heavy bass. Would estimate between 8 and 9lb compared to my other basses. Strap buttons are Schaller straplock buttons. I'll throw in a bungee comfort strap that was in the case when I bought it and I never used. Strings on there are D'Addario Flex Steels 45-105. About a month old, only done about 3 gigs on them so they've got loads left if you like them bright. Setup is excellent, Martin Peterson at The Gallery did a full setup very recently and John tweaked it about a week ago too when I was in there. I'm based in Finchley, North London. Lockup is at Staples Corner. Photos: Here's a youtube vid of this bass at a gig. Sorry the sound quality is not great but at least you can see it works!: https://www.youtube....h?v=c8L9DCzf7cs Cheers Ben
7. Nice one Clarky, excellent to meet you, wish you all the best with your 51P, she's a beauty! Ben

9. Hi everyone, I'm selling this beautiful vintage guitar amp. It's a 1969/70 Fender Twin Reverb. The Oxford speakers date to 1969 and the chassis serial is dated 1970. It's in great condition and works perfectly. The clean sound on this amp is something really special. There's a natural compression when you dig in that makes it so much fun to play. Obviously it is seriously heavy like all Twins. Looking for £850. It's in Staples Corner at a lockup. No trades, sorry. Nice one Ben Thanks for looking, now SOLD!
