1. Thank you very much indeed Sparky Mark, that's correct about the tuners, edited.
2. Thanks to Cosmo Valdemar who helpfully pointed out the following: "this bass does indeed have Gibson pickups - Thunderbird plus model to be precise. There was a different Les Paul model that had Bartolini pickups but they are easily identifiable as they are in black plastic covers. These Les Paul models had a slab body and overall looked a bit less fancy." Good info, thanks for that.
3. These 90s Les Paul basses had Bartolini pickups and electronics and a Warwick bridge and tuners fitted as standard at the factory. Check the wikipedia entry for more info on the history of these basses, some interesting stuff in there: https://en.wikipedia..._Les_Paul_bass. It doesn't mention the Warwick bridge in there but have a look at a picture of a 90s Warwick Streamer and you'll see it has identical hardware.
4. *SOLD* Hi everyone, This is a black 2007 Fender Jaguar Bass, Made In Japan. It is all-original, with the exception of some Schaller straplocks (I do not have the original buttons unfortunately). The bass is set up with a medium action and 45-105 steel roundwound strings. The finish on the front of the bass is near spotless. On the back is a tiny ding which has not cracked or broken the surface. On the bottom of the bass is a nastier bump which has hairline-cracked the finish but it's not visible when you're playing or when the bass is on a stand. These look worse in the photos than they do in real life. Very difficult to photograph an all-black bass! This Jaguar sounds just like it should: to my ear, in passive it sounds just like a mid-70s Jazz with the pickup pan in the middle. With the active 2EQ on, you can roll in a tiny bit of extra bass and treble to cut through more. Or crank the bass EQ, solo neck pickup and roll off the tone and you can do a decent impression of a P-bass. Always has a very authentic 70s Fender tone. The neck feels great; super fast and a lovely grain both sides. High-gloss neck with a rich colour front and back and beautiful aged yellow pearl block inlays. This isn't a heavy bass. Would estimate around 9 to 9.5lbs. Very comfortable. Got two scratchplates included with this one: the factory original "mint green" one if you want to look like Pino with The Who, or a Jeanie's black/white/black 3-ply which is, if anything, a better fit and finish than the factory scratchplate (plus looks excellent all in black!). Will be in an old Rockbag gigbag-style soft case, a bit knackered but does the job! Looking for £450 for this. Pick-up only, cash on collection. The bass is at a lockup in Staples Corner, North London or at home in Finchley N3. Not up for sending this in the post, sorry to those of you further afield. Just looking for a sale, can't think of anything at this price that I'd want to trade with. Here are some more pics: Cheers, Ben
