1. Hello there, I have decided to change my current rig due to my recent back problems (getting older ), and the new car I bought, which is a small one. Ampeg svtIIp preamp - 80's ampeg made preamp, which I find much more reliable and better than the ampeg's that was released later. It has 3 tubes, input volume only, ampeg mid-range selectable switch and a graphic eq. Two jack outputs and a XLR output. Ampeg SVP 1500 power amp - this one is rated 2x450W at 4ohm, but in my opinion, and in some rewiews over the net, it is a bit overrated and it produces 'round 300W per channel @4ohm. It is a MOSFET one, not valve. The sound of the amp is incredible, you can check some reviews on the net. This is an actual photo of the cabs, the top one doesn't look that new anymore, since I have been gigging it a lot. the amp the preamp Now Ampeg svt IIp + Ampeg SVP 1500 + 4u Road Ready rack case - 500GBP ONLY UNTIL SUNDAY!!! Local pick up preferred, considering the weight.
2. Still available... Been depping in some covers bands and played with some originals bands with a great response. If you are looking for a solo bass player - do not call me! If you are looking for a solid bass player - do call me . Phone 07889264587 - Steff, or email me at [email protected].
3. "thumbs up" Actually I didn't pose for that one, though it seems that way. It has been taken during a nice hard-rock gig with head-banging, guitars braking and bra's flying towards the stage.
4. Thanks to all for the welcoming . @Paul S: Moving forward for me has always been a way to stay in the musical scene, allowing me to concentrate myself on music only, because I know out of experience, that if you start a "day job", it will be much difficult for you to be in great technical and musical condition all the time. So... I am not after some "glory", I am a bass player after all, and I am not the "fast finger" or "the slapper" type, neither I have the sick feeling I could make millions of playing bass... Just wanna have the opportunity to do music for a living, which I have done for the last 13 years, because that will keep me "in tune" and will let me develop.
5. Thanks for the warm welcoming . I don't expect my previous experience to count - was introducing myself. Who I have played with might be interesting for someone who is into that music or artists. I don't expect any benefits coming out of this. As for my gear pix - please, those are from the stage: And those I just took in the garage, where the gear is stored: Sorry about the quality, photos was taken with my mobile phone and there is not much light in the garage. Is that so uncommon set of gear that it actually needs a photos as a proof of possessing? I am sorry If my first post seems offending in some way. No offense meant at all.
6. Hi there, I am glad I registered in this lovely forum and wanted to say Hello and some words about me. My name is Steff, a 32 years old bass player, and I have just arrived in London. Back in my home country - Bulgaria I was one of... let's say the top10 wanted bassists. I have played and recorded for many famous artists and bands back there, covers and originals. I have recorded for the world-famous Bulgarian clarinet player Ivo Papazov - Ibryama, have played with american singer Claude J. Woods Jr., who is singing with the Earth Wind&Fire Experience and Al Mckay Allstar band. A songs that I have been recording in have been published in different compilations incl. Buddha Bar and others. I have also been a bass player and lead singer for a band that won the Uriah Heep's "Best video contest" back in 2007 I think... The reason I have decided to move is the small size of our market. I really didn't want to stop developing myself as a musician, so I have decided to move to the only place which I felt right - London, so here I am. I have some videos and audios which some of you might find interesting, though those aren't my best performances, but that is what I have: http://stefanmarinov.vox.com http://myspace.com/stefanmarinov http://myspace.com/shakazuluorchestra - for the world-funk-fusion lovers. As you can see I am into many different styles - funk, fusion, pop, rock, soul, world etc, but my real passion is The Funk. I am not the solo player, who has perfect technical skills... I like to grooooooove... I love to be the melodic and rhythm foundation of the song, that makes the band members to feel free to do whatever they want and that makes you move your head while listening to the crazy guitar solo or to the perfect vocal melody... That is who I am. Once more - happy to be in London and to have the opportunity to work my way up, and happy to be a part of this forum. Cheers, Steff. And yes... I forgot to mention about my gear - it is not something unique, but it is a nice one. I am currently using a '98 MM Stingray5, Ampeg svtII-p preamp, Ampeg SVP-1500 power amp, Mesa/Boogie 1516be cab, and Mesa/Boogie 18' cab(don't know the model of that one - it is just a sweet and fat 18' Mesa... ).
7. Hi there, I am a 32yo Bulgarian bass player, just arrived in London. I have 13+ years of studio and live experience playing funk, pop, rock, fusion, world, blues and many others. Back in my home country I have been working as a session player with a number of the top bands and artists there. Have reached the barrier of the small market and decided to move. So here I am, looking for a session work, touring, function, payed job. I am a really fast learner, have great ear, slow at reading though, easy going and hard working and will be committed for the right band/project/job. I have own transport, pro gear and the desire to play. I have some videos at http://stefanmarinov.vox.com , http://myspace.com/stefanmarinov and http://myspace.com/shakazuluorchestra (for the funk-fusion-world lovers). I am based in Croydon, but I will travel for the rehearsals, gigs and recordings for the right band. So... If you think I could be what you need - drop me a line here, or mail me at [email protected] . Cheers, Steff.
