  1. Hi all

Selling this beast as I want either a HH or maybe a Dingwall (haven't decided yet :))

Does the awesome stingray thing in spades just keep going back to my Yamaha.

It has some honest wear for 23 year old bass which is reflected in price. Crack in finish on back was explained to me by previous owner as extreme change of temperature/humidity while bass was on tour. I can see no impact marks to make me doubt he is telling the truth.

Neck is perfect nice and shallow with no dings.

WEIGHT IS 4.4KGS on digital kitchen scales.

I will let the pictures do the talking. Price is for delivery in well padded guitar boxes (no original case sorry)

Priced to sell it may be the cheapest Ray in UK/Europe (I look all the time 😆 )

Tradewise hit me up for similar value basses, HH rays 4 and 5, Dingwall Spector Warwick I'll listen to most reasonable offers.

Thanks for looking and now the reason we're all here, the pictures.....

    Michael

Very good, but fairly heavy, well mine is

    Awesome

I had a 2400 for a while sold it and bought it back and sold it 😆

Couldn't get on with it for some reason

A well set up 300 or 600 feels better than a 2400 to me for some reason. Maybe I'm a weirdo...

I started out with an Ibanez SR300 and after going through Fender, Epiphone, Squier, Peavey and Musicman, I'm back at Ibanez again. This time it's an SRMS805. I'm really liking it. It plays beautifully and I'm getting some evil distorted sounds out of it.

Oh yes. I'm same although with my cheap ibanez and yamaha. Ridiculous basses for the price.

Stingray 5's are really growing in me to the point that they're now probably my favourite looking bass.

I'm tempted to pick one up, but I have a 4 string HB copy and the neck is way too thick for my liking, and I don't like the feel of the flat fretboard.

For those who own 5's, are they real baseball bat necks, and is the fretboard flat? I don't have the opportunity to try one here and those things would be a deal-breaker for me.

This was a concern for me too but found the necks to be fine. Nice and shallow at back and string spacing works for me. Still trying to get on with the single H pickup though :)

the 4 neck is pretty fat but I liked the 5. Personal preference obvs.

The biggest neck i ever experienced was an l2000 but for some reason liked it anyway.

Metal flake green. Was a factory finish round about 1999/2000 iirc.

It was offered at the same time as  pearl lavender and metal flake brown. I had pearl lavender StingRay 5 for a number of years (pictured earlier in this thread)

    Very cool.

    Buttercream looks awesome too.
