Best of luck with the sale...
Thanks for your good wishes Kenny - they seem to have had the desired effect anyway, as this instrument is now Sold (pending receipt of payment). And thanks to everyone for your interest and your encouraging posts.

  2.
I am looking to exchange my 75 re-issue jazz for a Lakland Duck Dunn, as I need Precision pick up/jazz neck.
These critters have got me thinking though.#
    Are they passive fellas?
    Cheers,
    Karl.
Yes, they're passive.

Probably a bit too far away for it to be practical for you, but if you happen to find yourself over this way, you're welcome to come and try it.

  3. SOLD

I'm reluctantly having to consider parting with this lovely instrument, as I've recently made a couple of new purchases and can't really justify keeping them all...

Its a Japanese 2006 Aerodyne Classic Precision Bass Special, with added ashtray! Bit of a Marmite guitar as far as looks go maybe - you either love it or you hate it - but I love it, and surely I can't be the only one..?

Wish I could afford to keep it, but it's not my principal gigging instrument, so I can't really.

It sounds great, has a Jazz style neck and is lightweight at 3.9kg (8.6lbs). One of the volume pots is a little crackly, but five minutes with some switch cleaner would see that right (I may even get round to doing it myself...)

I'm offering it for sale with a decent hardcase (as pictured). No, I'm not convinced it's a genuine Fender hardcase either, despite the badge on the lid - but it's a perfectly good, useable case nonetheless.

Let me know if you're interested, or have any queries.

PS Like the last instrument I sold on BC, this one has a BassChat pedigree, having previously been owned by Old Horse Murphy and Bassatnight

    Thanks for looking...

    SOLD

  4. Reluctantly, financial necessity means I have to consider selling this keyboard. I don't use it much, and I've only had it about a year (from new), but it's great for what it is, and very good value considering what it can do, and the quality of it's preset sounds when compared to others... I've mainly used it for classic organ and piano sounds, but it's capable of lots more...

It's a bit dusty, but other than that as new.

Think I still have the original box for it...

Please get in touch if you have any queries. Thanks.

  5.
Hiya,
Trace Elliot did a great 4 x 12 sealed cab, to go with their Valve series amps. Superb sound, and go for peanuts ! Did one without a tweeter, Heavy cabs, though .
They did indeed. And they did, indeed, sound superb.. And yes, I did indeed let mine go for peanuts - I'm not going to admit for exactly how little because it's embarassing.

Here is pic of the pair I had - one with and one without tweeter..

I loved standing in front of these. But I didn't love getting them to gigs on anything other than the ground floor.

I still miss them - but then remind myself about how easy gigging life is now, with a Markbass NY604 in each hand!

  6.
- besides, he's using nylon flats.
My Rotosounds are nylon flats! And but the look of the binding, possibly the same brand...

I'm not sure how much it affects the sound really - I mean, I'm far from confident that I'd be able to tell the difference in a controlled experiment. But thanks to everyone for their advice so far. Think I might try out the washer idea before attacking the silk bindings...

  7. Hello. Here's a pic of the bridge of my lovely, newly acquired 80s Pbass (thanks 2x18):

As you can see, now that I've put my preferred strings on it (Rotosound Trubass), there's a problem with the silk on the A and E strings sitting on the bridge saddles. Maybe it's my imagination, but it seems to make these strings sound a little duller than the other two. The saddles are correctly adjusted for action and intonation, so I cant just move them.

Is it ok/advisable to scrape the silk back a bit? Or might that damage the string (they're pretty new, and not cheap!)? Any other ideas welcome...

    Thanks.

  8.
Recently purchased on here along with an F1. Went for the cab very much out of curiosity.
Used on 2 gigs last weekend and it sounded great, but if I'm honest with myself I can't see me getting much use out of it going forward. A bit of a luxury that I don't really need!
In great condition. 33lbs, 600w, 8 ohms. 4x6 drivers. HF Compression driver is more musical and smoother that the MB tweeter.
It's a punchy little thing and surprisingly found it quite smooth in the lows which I wasn't expecting.
All the specs can be found HERE
    Looking for £475.00.
Aaaaargh! I don't believe it! I tried to buy this cab when it was up for sale a week or two ago, but you beat me to it. And now I've just spent my only spare bit of cash on a Pbass, so don't think I can afford to buy this off you. Ar*e!

Let me think - how much do you think I'd get if I sold one of my children?

  9.
I'd have a Mark Bass LM3 or the F1

They do sound different so try each with your cab.

I love Mark Bass. I know some on here consider them "last-years" amps but I love the versatility and the thick but clear tone with my passive fretless through to my 18V monsters.

I used to have a ML3 with an Aggie 1x12 and it was great.
+1 for Markbass. LM2 or 3 are both great heads - I used to use an LM2 - but I suggest even better is the LMK. I use one now - great sound, powerful, flexible, very small and very light.

Love those crystal clear, transparent sounds - but I use mine in conjunction with a Sansamp BDDI for when I want to add grit and valve warmth.

And usually available well under £500 second hand - they're great value. They seem to crop up on BC fairly regularly, and are evidently pretty easy to sell on again without making a loss if you decide you don't like it.

Well, that's my tuppence worth anyway!
