1. I've had this for exactly a year, and now feel I can move on to a full double bass, so this will have to help pay for one.

I'd like £1200 for it, these are well over £4k new now!

I would prefer an exchange in person as it would be a pain to post.

The original sale thread with pics:

It comes with a french bow and some rosin, the stand and it's gigbag.

a pic I took when I got it (yes that is last year's advent calender in the background)

Some dents in the finish where the 'arm' has made contact:

I may also sell a yita german snakewood bow + Protec case for £130 + P&P as this can be posted.

  2. Since moving to EUB I'm not using any effects and I'm saving for a proper double bass so these are being sold:

    1) [s]Boss CEB-3[/s] SOLD

The industry standard, perfect working order, some small marks from double sided velcro.

    £40 + P&P [s]SOLD[/s]

    2) Boss OD-2
This is the guitar version, but I've occasionally used on bass, some small marks, otherwise good condition.

    £30 + P&P

    3) Electro Harmonix Big Muff Pi
Great pedal, some marks on the top face where the paint is scratched, but the electronics work great.

    £35 + P&P

    4) Electro Harmonix Bass Balls
A great pedal, some marks on the top face where the paint is scratched, but the electronics work great.

    £40 + P&P

    5) [s]Electro Harmonix Harmonic Octave Generator[/s] SOLD
Absolutely perfect condition. I'm not really expecting this to sell here, so I'll ebay it next week.

    £320 + P&P

    6) [s]Snarling Dogs Bawl Buster Wah[/s] SOLD
Great bass peda, adjustable Q, the eyes light up and the top images glows in the dark.

    £50 + P&P [s]SOLD[/s]

    7) [s]Jim Dunlop Crybaby bass (white)[/s] On hold
    Great condition.

    £50 + P&P

    8) DHA VT-Twin Bass
Good condition, awesome valve tone, can swith between 2 channels or combine the 2. Additional bright switch fitted by DHA

    £150 + P&P

    9) [s]DHA VT1-Compressor[/s] SOLD
Valve compressor that gives a smooth tone, but also an added feature is that if you reduce the gain to zero it becomes a valve overdrive for great tones.

    £50 + P&P[s][/s][s][/s][s]SOLD[/s]

  3. I have the headless singlecut as above; the neck is glued in to the body and with a large amount of material moved for the ramp the body is particularly resonant when played unplugged, but to be honest I don't think it makes a huge difference to the final tone that comes out of the speakers.

I didn't have an issue at all going headless, possibly because there's a volute on the back of the neck where the head stock should be, so it's an easy reference to find without looking.

I've had far more issues with basses with short upper horns making the neck stick out further than on a normal bass (Mark King ones are typical) so I think it may be a horn issue rather than a headless issue.

  4. I don't really care about signature basses for the various reasons above. If they came with a guarantee of quality or similar, then it may be worth it but the Fender models often seem to be a 50% mark-up for a colour change and a different p'up, the cost of which should be offset by not having the standard ones.

Still, there's only 1 signature bass I want to own - Status Graphite Buzzard for JE. I think that appeals because that's properly an evolution of the instrument, not a new colour with a high price.

    Hows this?
No, that's just a PA speaker cab, you would need a preamp and poweramp to get a sound out of it.

    Good luck!

That's the first 'combo' I've seen that I actually want. If it's <£900 when it arrives here then that would be great, but going by the PJB pricing, it'll probably be about £2,000.

  8. Ah, I have to admit don't like seeing a chunk taken out of my payslip every month, but at least with PAYE I don't get any nasty surprises.

For that sort of tax though I'd have though it would be better to pay £300 to an accountant to set you up as a limited company and then claim back all your expenses, which is usually way more than the tax comes to.
