Mind blowing collection there!
Anyone else show their other half & say "next time you say I've got too many basses..."? -
What the hell did I just see??
That might have ruined Roundabout forever :/ -
Hello!

Tis a thing of beauty! If my Yamaha Attitude sells in time I shall be all over this!

Awesome mate. Just had a listen to your band - great stuff -

Did Fender do a P bass with blocks and binding in the 70s?
I think I've read that there were a couple of block Ps made in the 70s but I might be wrong. Who cares, looks sweet no? -

Trades ?
Hmmm possible trades for Fender things with 5 strings. Sorted for amps & what not -
It is indeed a fing of beauty!
Cheers Marc -
These basses need no introduction as their quality is well documented. Absolutely superb fit & finish & quite simply one of the best P basses out there, plays & sounds like a dream.
This is an authentic Japanese model from 2011 before production switched to Mexico. Totally stock & in as-new condition apart from one tiny ding on the underside below the tone control as shown in the pics. Zero buckle rash & nominal pickguard scratching due to only ever being used for recording a handful of times in my smoke-free studio. This really is a pristine specimen of a well regarded, discontinued bass.
Strung with D'addario EXL nickels. Includes the original thumbrest that shipped with it (never installed) & Fender gig bag.
Would prefer collection from Cardiff or nearby but will ship within UK in gigbag & Fender box at buyer's expense & arrangement.

It gets it up close to ear level and even at low volumes it seems to fill the space nicely.
I have mine like that at the practice space and whenever we get a gig with a decent size stage or outdoors I'll take it along.

Agh please don't fuel the gas any more, I'm still trying to justify this purchase to the missus! -

Great!
For even more goodness stick the 210 extension cab under it

Hmmm, I don't need it but will probably get one to try it at some point -
So I got to use my 500 in anger for the first time on the weekend at a wedding gig. Wow. Everything I couldn't hear at modest volumes came alive when it was cranked. Just an incredibly powerful, ballsy sound with spades of definition, headroom (for me with FoH support) & yes, heft, in comparison with my Genz rig at least. With the bass at 9pm to tame the boom & treble just to the right my Jazz sounded fantastic all night. Didn't play with the voicings on the amp but used the bass's passive tone control & plucking positions for different sounds & everything sounded authentic. I was surprised at just how 'modern' this box can sound if that's your thing...when I set up & switched on I my bass was in active mode, so razor-sharp was the tone, real bitey hi-fi stuff. Turns out I was in passive mode & it was just the horn engaged on the amp. Something for everyone here.
The fact that it practically floated out of the car & back in at load was the cherry on the cake
So I've now fallen in love with this powerful little combo & wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone who's looking for something light, loud & capable of great tones with minimal faffing with controls. -

sometimes you want a proper bass tone and not something that sounds like popcorn being made in a massive metal drum.

Totally with you on Primus & this line cracked me up, spot on! XD
I love the Dan so totally disagree there, but that's ok. It's all subjective in the end eh. -
Anagram of my surname & been my web alter ego for years for spam avoidance reasons. Oh & to stop special branch tracking me down...

Since they're absent after 4 pages is it safe to assume Kiss are a "given"?

Not in this house! -
Chic for me. I love Nard's lines & tone but their songs as a whole go nowhere after a couple of reps & their lyrics were abominable. I realise I'm probably in a minority of one here & me tin hat's firmly on.

They were all out of beef & tomato pot noodles last time I went the bastards, & I went home with a divorce's worth of gear I secretly really needed :/

Vid with the 500 combo on it's own from a party I had at my place this summer, recorded on a gopro.

Nice fat edgy P tone there, sounds killer! Great version too.
I've played with the EQ a bit since & cutting the bass to 9 o'clock & taking a smidgen off the lows helps to remove the boom. I'll see how this translates in a live situation when I rock it next week with the functions band & report back.
I really want to like this amp - it's light, it's easily loud enough for monitoring (always PA support for us) and I want to move away from separates for a bit to make load in/load out & set up a doddle. Plus it's Fender & I like Fender things -
Just got one of these. Really portable & really loud but inherently boomy as hell I'm finding. I'm not the only one as well, this opinion pops up a fair bit. Definitely not replacing my Genz gear, yet at least.
-
Pulled the trigger on one of these recently. Hisses like sh1t & feels flimsy as hell. Used it twice in a month :/ Wouldn't replace if/when it breaks.
-
+1 for Ampband. Used em for years now.
-
Using this, much appreciated!
