5. Can you do a better price, posted? These are £89 new. And I’ve also been offered a new one for £80 on Reverb.
6. Thanks Steve. I’m in my car. Either way, I find it quite tricky to get across town these days.
7. I usually make electronic music. But I’ve now bought a Marcus Miller V 7, 5 string, fretless. Interestingly I find it easier to move around on than my previous fretted bass. But I have no experience of creating funky riffs. And I’d like to learn some funky finger techniques. I don’t read music, nor play in a band. And I have no wish to currently. But I have a good sense of rhythm and rhyme, I like to think. I need to learn some basic tricks that will help me in recording occasional live bass for my tracks. Or even sampling some licks into my electronic box of tricks. Looking for a few, economic lessons! As I’m based in Islington, EC1, I’d like not to have to travel too far, if possible. Thanks.

10. Nice bass. Except I’m looking for a fretless jazz.

12. By the way, Bias FX, Bias Amp heavily reduced for a short while longer. Hurry...
13. Hank's Guitars. Now that's a classic shop, regardless of name. Great to walk up those stairs!
14. Thanks for the tip. Denmark St. is always a pleasure to visit. As long as the developers allow us to hang on to our history!
15. New to this malarkey! And so starting out again with a Harley Benton HB-60 bass. I'll be looking for new strings and a very economic initial setup, if possible. I wondered who people might recommend for such work, in Greater London. Or a little bit outside if it saves me bucks and gets me out of the house! Many thanks.
16. Economic limitations mean I've gone with a Harley Benton HB 60. £180. Still, it stops me busting my credit card on a Gretsch 5440 LSB! Thanks for the tips!
17. Looks like the Chowny could be the winner...I cannot play like this guy. But, the tone achieved seems clearer and punchier than what I'm finding elsewhere in this Semi Hollow price range. Although there are actually hardly any well recorded videos on YouTube for the Aria Tab 66, Yamaha BEX 4, Allen Woody & so on. Good marketing Mr Chowny 8-) http://youtu.be/OSSQibxkrSE
18.
Mike, SK8, has a Chowny for sale. Check the Basses F/S section.
Yes, I spoke with him. Still for sale. Seems like a good deal. If you want that purple 8-) If I could try one out in London I'd be able to make a decision. For now I have the Chowny YouTube vids. And the choice between their name and Epiphone & some of the more established brands. I looked at the Guild M85 today and it had quality written all over it. Thinking that perhaps the Allen Woody is similar. But, I have heard the quality feedback for the CB-1 too...
19.
It would be remiss of me not to suggest my Epiphone JC basschat.co.uk/topic/259580-epiphone-jack-casady-with-hard-case-price-reducCed/page__fromsearch__1
Thanks. I enjoyed my old JC! But, I thought I'd look for something a bit funkier this time...if possible. Whilst still continuing my love for hollow!
20. BigRedX...I really like their classic look. I was even tempted to click on a good value one on eBay. I only mentioned the 60ies/McCartney sound as from the few videos I'd found on Youtube, that was the sound I heard and what the reviewer quoted them as producing. I'd love to try one. But, when I went down Denmark St. today there some notable omissions on the bass front. The Chowny seems to be the most funky so far, in that price range. Oh well...I must keep looking.
