  1. Edgar Meyer's recordings of Bach's cello suites are sublime as well! I also enjoy David Friesen's modern approach, and Glen Moore's bass compositions.
  2. I'd love that pdf, if you don't mind sharing!
  3. I'd also point out that a higher string action will make your instrument project better and also let you dig in more. Of course, you might have a high action already... I'm sure the riser will help. When I got my first bass guitar, I haven't had an amp for a while. Practicing, sitting on my bed, I've noticed that the bass was amplified by the one-piece headboard that I pushed the bass' body onto by accident. I played in that spot all the time. 🙂
  4. Definitely have it professionally appraised before proceeding down any route to sell it. There's a few luthiers and sellers in the uk that are specialized and/or knowledgeable with basses.
  5. It depends on the individual instrument, as sizing is nonstandard. Measure the playing lenght on your instrument and refer to the string maker's specifications. You can put on a string that's longer than needed, but you can't fit one that's too short...
  6. Thanks for the encouragement!
  7. There's several that others have tried and used with success. Pirasteo Permanentt, Tomastic Belcanto are some. Both warmer than spiros, permanents are a bit brighter than belcanto Mind you, this will have to be a trial and error to see what works for the bass and for you.
  8. Great work! I have an open seam and been thinking about fixing it myself. This thread definitely makes me question if I had the patience and perseverance to do just a fraction of what you've achieved there... I'm subscribed for this!
