1. Yep, I like Fenders. My rig: 61 Jazz, 82 JV Squier P bass, Little Mark II, two Epifani UL410s 64 Jazz 71 Jazz 77 fretless P bass, +jazz pickup. mwahhhh!
2. Check this out! It's a great bass for £500 http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=13770&hl=SUB Jo
3. I bought this bass from niceguyhomer about 6 months ago and it's been my main bass, brillliant for my main gig and for functions, etc... But I've now decided I to go back to using my jazz basses so this has to go. It's a real stunner though and sounds amazing, feels great to play, and also just looks really cool! It's a 2 band eq with a rosewood fingerboard, the best combination IMHO It's very punchy (as you'd expect) but warm and fat as well, not at all clanky, just a a great sounding bass. It's been set up really well with 40 gauge strings, and comes with a musicman hardcase, the original black scratchplate and the replacement mother-of-pearl one. Condition-wise, it's got one minuscule ding on the underneath edge, otherwise it's absolutely mint. I'm looking for £675 for it- based in Birmingham.
4. This bass previously belonged to Walman and Silverfoxnik- see his original thread. It's been much improved looks- and sound-wise, having been stripped and had a new black scratchplate added for a vintage Stingray look, and a customised John East 3-band eq circuit, giving it loads of versatility. It is a great bass, well balanced, comfortable and great sounding... currently at the Gallery in Camden, let me know if you're interested!
5. For sale: 1997 Fender USA (made in California) Precision Special. Same spec as the popular hot-rodded P-bass. Extremely versatile, with P-bass body and pickup but with an extra jazz pickup in the bridge position and jazz profile neck for greater playability. Beautiful vintage-looking bass, excellent condition (one tiny hairline laquer crack by the neck- hardly even visible but I want to give an accurate description!) Brilliant bass for any playing situation, wide tonal variety, great tone, good balance. I'm after at least 400 for it. 6. Hello all. I'm selling my 1969 Fender Precision, as I'm using my two vintage jazzes for everything and have also just bought a musicman... It's a really nice bass, sounds fantastic and feels good, looks the part too!! It's original as far as I know apart from the finish, which I think is a refinish (but I'm not sure... it may be original?) The blue finish has had a clear laquer put over the top. Anyway, pics here, or check out ebay link (finishes Friday): http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...E:IT&ih=009 I'm after about 1100 for it...
7. Thanks Hamster! I have to say, there isn't really much competition when it comes to vintage Fenders v me ;-) they win every time. Looking forward to seeing you at the Boom Boom. All the best, Jo
8. One offer made so far.... any more takers??
9.
Are you interested in trades?
Not really. But if by any chance you have a nice old precision I might be interested ;-)
10.
Nice Instrument !! Fancy an Overwater Progress ? LOL !!
Sorry mate, not for me! Great basses though if you're into that kind of thing ;-)
11. Well, I've deliberated for months about this because it's a lovely bass and I really don't want to sell it- however I now have two 60's Jazzes and so this one ends up not really getting played, and I need the money!! It's got a real 70's funky sound to it, quite a narrow neck and is comfortable to play. It's got the original body, neck, pickups and bridge but the tuners are replacements and the scratchplate is a NOS Fender replacement. The control plate and knobs are also replacements. It looks the part though and sounds fantastic. Based in Birmingham- anybody welcome to come try it! I forgot to say earlier, it is a refinish, as far as I know. ...oops, also forgot to say, when I got this bass the frets were all mashed up and there were grooves in the wood itself on the fingerboard, so I had it refretted by Bob Dayfield (in Leicester- who takes care of all Aynsley Lister's guitars) and he did an incredible job on it- came back like a new bass! I asked for vintage style frets as I'm not really into the modern style "jumbo" frets. It plays like a dream now ;-)
12.
[Top Ten hit]-me! Do you live at a bass museum?? haha Nice gear and resume! Welcome (back?) to the site. Gig around bucks much? Si
Thanks guys. No gigs in Bucks that I know of- nearest probably Northolt, 6th July (though I don't think it's all that close) While I'm here I hope nobody minds me throwing in a plug for Aynsley's live session on Radio 2 which goes out 2nd July on the Paul Jones show, 7 pm. Jo
13. Hello everyone. I've been around on the various bassworld/basschat sites for a while (sharing an account with funkmunky), but thought it was about time I set up a page of my own. Better late than never... anyway, I'm based in Birmingham and I play for blues/rock guitarist Aynsley Lister, but also various songwriter-guitarists and a couple of function bands. So, hello all. oh and while I'm here I guess I should list my gear as well- so here goes- 61 Jazz (white, see pic) 64 Jazz (Lake Placid Blue) Two Epifani UL410's, 8 ohm. Eden WT800 Jo
