  1. Hi Jason, Yes I can accept £300 for it. Let me know when you can collect. Cheers Dave
  2. Stagg EUB in excellent condition. Great portable instrument for tight spaces and silent practice with headphones. Perfect for bass guitarists wanting to try upright bass without breaking the bank! Comes with a stand and a lightweight bag. Collection only from Bristol BS5.
  3. My first bass guitar will be arriving in a few days time 🙂 so I'm looking for a teacher or other resources to get started. I'm mostly interested in jazz, funk, soul, blues etc I'm an experienced musician having played the trombone for many years (jazz, funk, soul reggae big band, classical), the double bass for the last two years (jazz, classical) and I'm a good reader with a pretty good understanding of chords and harmony. I just want to get started on the right foot and not waste time trying to figure things out by myself! Please hit me up with any recommendations! Cheers!
  4. @MuddBass I've touched it up with a bit of wood stain that I had lying around so it's much less visible, you only notice it if your looking now. I'll live with it as @Burns-bass says it's a big thing that will pick up some knocks and bangs if you use it how it's meant to be used ..
  5. Check out anything by Phronesis and Jasper Hoiby.
  6. Wow! I was in the shop 2 weeks ago and had a long chat with Hamilton all about the process of bow rehairing. No one mentioned imminent closure. 😞
  7. Trying to find a replacement for a broken plastic horn flare. (Eminence APT80-3) The spec changed at some point and the thread is now internal as opposed to external on the one I ordered from DJ Supplies which has just arrived! 🤦🏽‍♂️ Broken flare is glued back together for now but a new one would be preferable.
  8. I really like the look of this and the reviews and comments I've read sound great.. I have an EA Wizzy 10 at the moment but its struggling to keep up with an 18 piece big band with a loud drummer even in a rehearsal situation.Just wondering what difference would I notice with the Crazy 88. I'm on DB with a Realist PUP and a TecAmp 500 via a Fishman Platinum Pre-amp. Cheers

  11. Great to hear of your good experience at Bowspeed. You should definitely try orchestral playing, I've done a couple of play days which are great fun, low pressure and great experience. There's always other players there so you can "hide" in the section 😅I'm doing one next month in Crewkerne - a movie themed day - should be a lot of fun! 12. I'd definitely buy this if I hadn't bought the lovely Bryant from @bassace six months ago!
  13. Thanks for this, that's very useful info 👍
  14. Yes that's the one. Piers and Joe who run it are great.
