I bought a Bass Collection Detroit P Bass from this very forum and wanted to do some upgrades. A few chatters have said that they’d owned these/played these and thought they were as good, if not better than the Mexican Fender models, albeit at a fraction of the price, which I would agree with. So first things first is to switch out the pickup and wiring, fit a neck bolt kit and get a set of flats on it. I’ve gone for a Montys ‘62 pickup which arrived today and boy do they go the extra mile with the packaging and presentation. I feel like this is going to be a pretty special build once it’s complete. I can’t wait to get this all together and hear it through the amp.

Hey all, I’m about to dive headfirst into the murky world of flatwound strings. Have any of you champs had any experience with Bass Centre Detroit Flats? If not, what is everyone using? Majority will rule here 😜

It’s the top section of a Holeyboard, it’s a clever wee design allowing you to use cable ties to secure, chop & change the set up. I’m thinking of going for Velcro on a home made board though.

I’m looking at replacing the pots and wiring in a P bass that I’ve just bought from another chatter. I was about to click the BIN button on a pre-wired harness but then thought I should check my box of spares. low and behold I’ve got everything I “might” need CTS pots, fresh wires, brand new cap, switch craft Jack… sounds great, except for the values… There’s a 250k for the volume, 500k for the tone and a 0.068uf cap. has anyone had any experience of wiring a P bass in this configuration? Is it worth a punt or should I stop being so tight and get myself another 250k pot 🤣

Evening all, potentially daft question… Does anyone have any suggestions as to why the 4ohm output on my Ashdown CTM-15 wouldn’t be working? The 8ohm output is fine. I’m using different cabs to test, each with the correct rating. I fear I’ve probably answered my own question here in that it simply isn’t working. TIA
