These are the bomb for travel. You put your gig bag in this for the rough stuff and then just use your gig bag at the other end.
Good choice of words! ✈️ 👀

Gemma made the mammoth trip oop north to County Durham to do a trade between our short scale basses. Bass is great, whole transaction was easy and she’s a top BC’er - you can deal with her with confidence 👍

I’m guessing this is a 34” scale?
It is mate, yes - B string is as good as my Lakland 35” scale tho, if not a little better

It’s really pretty light for a 5, but I’ll have to get on the scales bathroom scales tomorrow and give you a number! I’ll try and do it first thing - it’s been advertised on here before by someone else and I was hoping the weight would be in the thread but no such luck! Will get back to you with it asap, cheers

Lovely looking bass Paddy, looks super versatile. I've owned only the one Sandberg but it was ridiculously good how it played. I'm sure someone will love this.
Have a BUMP on me
Keir
😊 Cheers Keir - it’s a cracking bass but it’s not what I need at the mo and I’ve had my head turned now by something else so it’s got to go
That being said I can afford to reduce it slightly and still buy the bass I’m after so its now Reduced (for a cash sale) to £995 - if you want to trade then that’s different but to get a quick cash sale it’s £995, which I think personally is an absolute bargain. Shipping can be arranged and I’ll Chuck in a gigbag if that’s the case (but it’ll also be boxed)

Now SOLD - no longer available
Sandberg California II VM5 with upgraded 3B Nordstrand preamp (with series/parallel switch & tone control) - £1,095 - can courier it at cost (will include a Fender gigbag & box it up if it needs posting)
EDIT: Weight is 4.06KG/ 8.96lbs so pretty lightweight for a 5’er - lovely piece of ash for the body
This is a really, really nice bass I got in a trade recently on here, it’s pretty light for a 5 with a nice ash body - the grain of the wood looks amazing close up. It’s in really good condition, nothing wrong with it to speak of
Feels like it does absolutely almost everything totally, from vintage Motown P Bass thru to modern fingerstyle funk to Jaco etc - the fingerstyle tone with the blend centered is one of the best bass tones there is (In my humble opinion of course.. 😆) and the quality of the build is obvious as soon as you play it.
Tone control works in active and passive mode, series/parallel switch gives you another option with series giving you some real meat to your sound. I mean, I probably don’t need to sell the bass to you if it’s something you’re considering - it’s a great condition Sandberg, it looks awesome and the 3 Band Nordstrand preamp is a step up from the factory fitted 2B that it comes with
Im based in County Durham - you’re welcome to come and view/play etc, otherwise I can courier it well packed and insured
I’ve seen a bass that I really want so I’m looking for a cash sale ideally, and I don’t think £1,095 is expensive at all for this bass. That being said I am always up for a trade, and I’ll not be offended by you asking - worst I can do is decline. I’d be especially receptive to a Yamaha BBP35 or Lakland DJ5/55-60 (especially one with the John East treatment) or any nice jazz 5 (an equivalent Sandberg TM5/TT5 would be awesome, but Mayones, Fender etc - what you got?) I may consider a nice 4 string jazz, however really I’m after a 5’er. I may also take a cheaper bass + cash like a Lakland 55-01, but just try me with what you have!
Cheers 👍

Have I overpriced this? What dya think?
Price isn’t too bad really, I think If postage was an option it would probably have gone months ago tbh. Just my opinion - I might be way off the mark 😆 -
You got any pics mate?

I'm very interested. Do you know the weight please?
I don’t offhand but it’s pretty chunky - I’d guess it’s not much off being 10lbs/4.5kg judging by what it weighs compared to my other basses of which I do know the weight. On the plus side just think of all the “resonating” that can be done 😉😆

Wow! These are built like basses twice or three times that price.
100% - it just sounds like a load of old patter and I’m trying to sell my bass 😂😂 but this absolutely wipes the floor in terms of build quality & playability compared to the likes of the Sire V7 and Fender Jazz MIM, even the pickups are good enough to not need replaced

Just done a Bass swap deal via post with Graham - not an easy deal to do logistically at all, but I couldn’t have asked for more tbf. Goes without saying that the bass was exactly as described and well packaged etc, but also he bent over backwards to make sure everything went smoothly. Pleasure to deal with & would be more than happy dealing with him any time

That’s a lot of bass for £750 - these are fantastic basses

**NOW SOLD**
I’ve got things I need to buy, but need to shift this first - this is a real bargain at this price, it’s an absolutely fantastic bass for the money - Fully Insured U.K. Delivery via Courier will be arranged, and it will be packaged in a padded Thomann Gig bag and then boxed for safe shipping
———————————
G&L Tribute JB Jazz Bass - £350 inc U.K. Delivery & padded Thomann Gig Bag
Colour is Lake Placid Blue, it’s a kind of metallic or slightly sparkly paint rather than a plain solid blue, not sure if you can see it in pics - it looks really good
This is a fantastic jazz bass, sounds exactly like a jazz bass should and the G&L pickups are really powerful and give you all the sounds you’d expect from a good J Bass. I love a mod, but these pickups (IMO) are really good and don’t need upgrading. This bass is a level above the Fender MIM jazz’s I’ve had, it’s so well made and nice to play and sounds amazing
Comes with the premium G&L bridge which is a fantastically good bridge, 20 frets, neck profile is “Medium C” whatever that means, it’s a very very nice neck to play. I don’t know why everyone sleeps on G&L but this is incredibly good and well made bass. It’s still in excellent condition, I’ve never taken it out the house tbf - I feel if it had Fender on the headstock it’s easily £600+ and so there’s big value to be had in theseI will ship in a padded Thomann gig bag as part the price, or collect in County Durham and we’ll discuss knocking the shipping fees off
Trades: Cali76 (or maybe an Empress BC), SushiBox preamp (particularly looking for Elementary or Underground Accelerator) or other clean tube type preamp, Sire V5 24 fret (or other 24 fret), what you got?

I want this, without any shadow of a doubt, however right now is a terrible time for me financially, but I’ve never let that stop me before 😂
I’m gonna have a look at selling some other gear and grab it if it’s still here, be a week or so at least tho I’d have thought. I’m not a million miles from you either (Chester le St) so would probably come pick it up if so. I’m gonna start seeing what I can bear to part with and I’ll be in touch asap…

Sadowsky Metro Express RV4 (Made In Japan) 2019
in Basses For Sale
Posted
I’ve put a deposit on one of these - picking it up next week. Fantastic quality basses, bear no resemblance whatsoever to the Chinese MetroExpress’s they’re much more like the Japanese Metroline’s - super light as well, I think every single one from the range was guaranteed under 8.9lbs, I think the main difference to the Metroline’s was just there were a limited number of options in terms of wood/colour etc, but the quality is just the same. Can’t wait to get mine - fantastic basses
