1. Over at TalkBass, people are raving about this bass and how unappreciated it is. Apparently it didn't sell well due to it being a bit of an odd looker. I've always wanted a P-bass, but with a bigger bass output and for it to have a Stingray MM pickup and that great slap tone. (Hence why I own a Stingray copy now ) So before it is discontinued, I'd like to ask has anyone had experience of this bass? Thanks.
2. I've just come across this DOD FX102 Mystic Blues overdrive pedal. It looks very similar to the Boss BD-2 which I love. Does anyone know if this thing sounds like the BD-2 or is it completely different? Thanks.
3. No problem. No one tells me much anymore.
4. Wasn't that thing shown at NAMM 6 months ago?
5. It's called a link my son.
6. Hey Finn, I thought you were banned from here for all eternity?
7. I don't have a rack.
8. Ahh, if only I wasn't saving up for driving lessons I'd be ordering that Nemesis 320w head.
9. Usually just that. I can't be arsed with my ME-50B sometimes. Would like a looper though...
10. An EDB made of basswood or an SR made of mahogany? Very quick question.
11. I was looking at this looper too. Looks good for the money.
12. Are there any decent loopers for under £100?
13. Haha, I was the main reason for this topic.
14. Whatever. Back on topic.
15.
So you're not saying that whoever buys the resulting knocked off gear will be getting 'good sounds for a good price'? Not me, you. If you want to buy battery hen eggs too then that's up to you as well. We live in an age where everyone seems to think they're owed something, like they shouldn't have to work for it. And also in an age where everyone wants new things. What happened to working hard, saving up and buying the used gear you can afford? I don't know why Behringer owners take it so personally. Shouldn't you complain to Behringer that their business practices are unethical and that it's unfair for them to take advantage of you by selling equipment whose R&D is knocked off? Caveat emptor. Alex
Yeah Steve's right. Can you just drop it? Some people like Behringer and think it's VFM, others think it's rubbish. The gear we buy is purely down to how much you can afford, what the sound is like and how well it copes in live situations. Back on topic please.
16.
Indeed, like these: http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=2707 Alex
Well it was his own fault...and no insurance. And what if people can't afford all that expensive gear? Many people will play a lot of amps round that price range and might decide for the price that Bezza sounds the best. Or do they have to save up more and buy something expensive to make you feel better?
17.
No good reason? Only their complete lack of morals in stealing numerous companies' intellectual property and getting away with it because the cost of litigation is too high for most. I don't doubt that a lot of their gear sounds good and works well because it's been designed by some very reputable companies - assuming you get something that hasn't been made with compromised components or build quality then you're onto a winner as you don't have to foot the R&D bill as whoever buys Sansamp or Boss or QSC or Mackie etc does. Utterly parasitic business practice. Alex
But good sounds for a good price.
18.
Have you considered Behringer? I gather they'll do trade-ins on slightly used Kettle Chips, one careful owner. Might even get some cash back too. Alex
I own a BX4500H. Good price for something that sounds fantastic. I don't care what name it says, has long as I get a sound I like. Or are you another one of those people who like to bash Bezza for no good reason and join in with everyone else?
19.
How much is your sound worth?
The cost of a packet of crisps.
20. But overall you guys would say the XL is the better option?
21.
Gotcha. So you admit this is pointless question then
No, it's just some people say there is a big difference between the TP cabs and XL cabs. I was asking what that difference is.
22.
Trust your ears not the opinions of others. If you can't hear a marked difference, then save your pennies.
Exactly.
23. I'm not replacing my 410TP though. I played through a 410TP and a 410XL when I was buying my cab and I could hardly tell the difference. Yet, people keep banging on about how great the tone from the XL is compared to the TP... I'll have to go and play through a 210TP and 210XL to see if I can spot the difference and if the XL's worth the higher price tag. I'm not getting a .5 XL since they cost waaay too much for me.
24.
You may find Ibanez don't release that particular model in Europe. There are quite a few differences in the catalouges between USA Europe and Japan. (eg. my RD605 is still listed in the japan market, but nowhere else). If you wanted one that bad you could import one from the USA. Personally I would just get the SR505, fantastic bass, much better neck and electronics than the lower series. Pete.
And it costs more... Has anyone had a chance to play the EDB555 yet?
