...until they can't get a drummer on some weeks....

Thankfully that problem will never arise, I'm blessed to be part of a huge stable of musicians.  Let's just say that we have our Contemporary Carols service on Sunday and there will be a total of 22 musicians and singers taking part....there are still quite a few that won't be there as they're not needed.

  2. @LukeFRC It’s definitely positive, church were totally supportive of my decision 😁👍🏻.  You were spot on, I was playing acoustic and singing because I could, rather than I should.

I can now focus on solely playing bass, happy days 😁

  3. I have made the decision to focus solely on playing bass in church and, to step back from playing acoustic guitar, and singing.

Bass is my passion, it's my forte and I know it's where I can best serve the Lord and my church.  I only ever played guitar and sang in my last church because the Worship Leader left and I fell into the position, I did it for 3-4 years but never really enjoyed it.

I know that I've made the right decision because I genuinely feel like a great weight has been lifted off my shoulders.

  4. I can enjoy the car crash / train wrecks now.  I was one of the Worship Leaders in my last church but, now that I've joined a new church, I'm only down as a bass player, guitarist and singer.

I can honestly say that I don't miss being a Worship Leader one bit 😁.

  5. Got to love car crash worship 😂, one Sunday in my old church, one of the Worship Leaders decided to start playing and singing completely the wrong song and she had the nerve to look at the rest of us like we were sh*t on her shoe .  I don’t miss her one bit (she was the main reason I left that church).

  6. Referring back to a some previous posts about the church Tech Teams and sound engineers, I have to say that I can't fault my lot, they definitely know what they're doing and they always get a great sound.

This came in very handy yesterday as I played acoustic and sang for the first time since I switched churches back in June (and I'm just getting over a snotty cold).

I'm strictly rhythm and what I lack in finesse, I make up for in enthusiasm 😁

I'd say UFO's Strangers In The Night is one of my favourite albums

That's one of my favourite albums of all time too, I love UFO and I love Phil Moggs voice.  I'm embracing the album for what it is and I'm enjoying the different voices on the album, I never thought I'd hear Biff Byford singing UFO but now I have and I quote like it 😀.

  9. @Jackroadkill I know exactly what you mean by it being fizzy, I still get moments where the nerves decide to randomly come alive for no reason and my fingers feel like I'm being electrocuted LOL.

Hopefully you won't have any lasting nerve damage or numbness as that feels weird.  I've accidently cut and burnt my fingers a few times over the years as I can't feel them and, cutting my fingernails is aways an odd experience.  The worst part for me is that my hand always feels stiff, it feels like I'm wearing a rubber glove, over a rubber glove, over a rubber glove and then trying to move my hand normally.

  10. @Jackroadkill I hope you're healing well.

This thread proves that whilst we can throw money at different basses, amps, pickups, leads and strings etc, the most important thing we have is our hands.

Back in 2010 I had an accident at work and my left hand went through a window.  I completely severed the median nerve and completely severed both tendons, as a result I now have little to no feeling in my left thumb and the first two fingers on my left hand, I didn't play for over a year but now, I play in my church's worship team and I hardly notice the loss of feeling.

    Look after your hands.
