I used to take a bus, then two trains and a long walk with my gear to get to rehearsal. I started at about 8am and was there for 10.30. I did that for two and a half years. FUN!

Check out TNT, I've heard of a few music stores that use them. Or you could ask the current owner to have a store "package it for transport", if they do that sort of thing, they may do it for free, and then have him send it.

Hmm.. A lot of opinions here about the BC. Though, I'm noting that the last post was June 2008 or something. Now we are over a year and a few months later, and the BC is still going. Does anyone have any more recent experience with them? I just bought some gear from them. The bass will take a couple of weeks to be sent from Germany, so I'm hoping it arrives when they say it will. Also, I'm overseas and so will not receive the item until December, the item being stored in my parents house until then. I'll be sure to inform you how my experiences where with them. A little anxious about this whole thing, but I'm really just hoping for the best. They where quite friendly on the phone. J

Hi, Has anyone had any experience with the bass center in London? How are they? I phoned them the other day and they seemed quite pleasant and honest, and had good prices and advise, so I bought a bass from them. Need to wait 2 weeks or so before I get it due to the bass being shipped from Germany. I realize I should have asked around before buying perhaps, but I had no reason to doubt them.
