3. Good Lord. I think thats the bass i sold you a long time ago ;-) Looks very nice :-) I have sold so many basses on here sometimes i just loose track haha. How much are you selling it for? Brian
I've been putting this off for a while but I'm just not playing it anymore and I hate instruments as household ornaments. This has been my main gigging and recording 5 string since I bought it off the forum a few years ago. I'm mainly playing 4 strings these days and I have another five for the rare occasions when it's required. It's an early model(No2291) Basic 5, not one of the pre Gibson models but I belive it's a '93 model, it has the "Tobias" stamped bridge and it originally had a Bartolini XTCT preamp. The preamp failed around a year ago so I had a Bart NTMB 3 band fitted. The bass has a 34 inch scale 5 piece Maple and Purpleheart asymmetric Through Neck, Pau Ferro fingerboard, with solid Flamed Maple body wings. Bartolini pups and preamp, Tobias bridge and Grover Tuners. String spacing at the bridge is 17.5mm It's in good condition, some dings at the lower bout of the body, frets are very good and the dual truss rods work perfectly, it's set up with a low action and is buzz free all over the neck. When I bought the Bass I had some concerns about a mark at the top of the neck near the headstock, I obviously queried this with the seller who assured me the bass had not suffered a headstock break. Trusting man that I am I had it checked by a local Luthier, Gary Lewis based in Neath who thought it could have been a gouge or scrape on the neck caused by a sharp object, as there was no evidence of damage from any impact at the front or rear of the headstock, I've tried to show this mark on some closeups of the mark and the headstock. The bass plays and sounds fantastic, the B string response is brilliant sounds like an extension of the E string....best way I can describe it . Have a look: Some pix of the headstock: The Bass comes with a Tobias hardcase this is in pretty good nick but the combination locking latch is broken. I took the guitar to the first South Wales bass bash....RIP Si....and everyone who played it were very impressed. Tradewise I'm looking for a Stingray4, USA 70's reissue jazz or USA 50's reissue P Bass Ideally with maple f/boards. I don't mind a Japanese Fender but would want some cash on top. I'm in S.Wales but don't mind driving M4/M5 for fuel costs, or could courier. I'll be in London next Weekend visiting family. Thanks, Gary.
4. The bass is in mint condition ;-)
I have a btb 400 myself, dunno if it's exactly the same thing, but I have always been very pleased with its results. It's an amazingly versatile bass and if you get accustomed to it, you can pretty much get any sound you want out of it, I remember paying 400€ for it with a set of elixirs on it, so £200 can be considered a good price if in good state. I recommend it to anyone! Good luck with your sale Jon
5.
Bought this fantastic bass from a fellow basschatter at the weekend. Its a stunning bass and has one hell of a sound. It's 35 inch scale, neck thru with Bartolini active pickups. The finish of this bass is a real show stopper :-) The only reason i am selling is due to the fact the neck is a tiny bit wide for my taste :-( Bass is 100% mint and from the look of it has had pretty much no use! I will include free shipping. Thanks for looking folks
Price drop ;-)
 6. Thanks for the info mate. So its 40mm at the nut? wonder why the website has it listed as 38mm. Do you think a J-rerto would fit into the control plate? Cheers
just measured mine, width of the neck at the nut is 40mm against 38mm for both my Fender Jazzes. Radius feels a little bit chunkier than my Fenders but is not too different. It has passive controls, they are volume, pickup blend and tone instead of volume, volume, tone that the Fender Jazz has. I'd say considering it costs alot less it compares very favourably with my Aerodyne.
7. also does it have an active EQ on this bass?
 8. Anyone had a chance to play one of these? Was going to go for a Fender jazz but REALLY tempted by these basses. What are the necks like? Are the necks similar in radius to a standard Jazz? Brian

 14. Still for sale. Really need to get this bass moving as it's collecting dust haha
No problem mate I'd be on it like a shot if I could see the LTD but we'll see what happens there!
15. Bass still up for grabs but looking for a cash sale or a trade for a sterling bass (with cash on top) Thanks Brian
Trade for a very nice LTD B155DX? Hoping it hasn't gone on evilbay yet
17. Thanks for the offer mate but the OLP's ain't really the bass for me. Brian
hmm, would you consider trading for a OLP Tony Levin MM5? almost a musicman
18. No great interest as yet in the bass :-( It's a real shame as its a super bass at a low price. Would consider a trade for an Ibanz ATK700 or a sterling or Stingray 5 (With cash on top) Brian

 21. I also have a BTB470 bass for sale for £230 which is one hell of a bass :-)
Is this still around? Where are the "what's the best bass for beginners" thread starter crowd? Outstanding instrument for 130 knicker!
22. Not a sarcastic remark mate. What i should have said was it's the least i can sell it for :-) Sold 5 basses via basschat and always had great luck, as for ebay not a big fan of using it to be honest :-(
I'm not sure if that was a slightly sarcastic remark or not, but I'm just saying, it can take a little while to shift them, try and be patient. If you get rid of it on here, you'll probably be better off than doing it on ebay.
23. Yeah, its a great bass mate and sounds wicked through my ampeg amp :-)
If my money situation sorts its self out I'll have it back Cracking bass, been looked after.
24. Thanks for pointing that out :-)
Last price drop? You've only had it on for a day!
