1. Has anyone here ever had a luthier change a fingerboard on their bass? If so, who did you get to perform the voodoo? Were you pleased with the results? How much did it cost you?

I'm considering changing the fretted wenge plank on my thumb bass for a fretless ebony number ... that said, how do you think that a lined wenge board would cope/ feel ... it's pretty grainy.

just tossing around ideas really. I might just buy a fretless. Any input would be appreciated.

  2. Streamer STD (Sexually Transmited Disease?!!!) Only jestin'!

I used to have one of these (the bass, not the disease!)

In my humble opinion this bass had a kinda P-bass feel. Moreso than what people generally perceive of a Warwick. The pickup placement, the flat slab-like body, where in sits when playing, the simple bridge, the passive electronics, and with the same simple controls. The neck is all Warwick though. It's like a strange hybrid.

A really great bass for all that.

£190 is an excellent price. Somebody buy it. You'll have an interesting bass.

  3. I've got a Bass Cab that needs to go. It's a scuffed (but VERY solid) ported cab with a perfect Peavey 15" Black Widow speaker mounted in it. It shifts bass the way a Black Widow should. The Cab holds it all together nicely. I'm selling this el-cheapo. Ideal if it could be picked up from my abode in Fife.

    £50

Nah, I must have moved the camera a wee bit and caused some tracers. You get a better idea of what the fingerboard is like on the third pic.
