1. Thanks Andy! They've got to be in the top few Anlogue bass distortion pedals. Great control over the sound too.
2. Ooops! good spot - that was a Tesco-style special deal I've corrected the typo. Cheers buddy!
3.
Free bump, nice pedal. You might get a little more attention if you label it as Bass Big Muff, which is what I assume it is, considering that is what the link goes to .
Thanks man! Updated...

8. Ah yeah. I retract that comment. It looks the b0110cks! Cheers, dude. I think I'll have to get one I'll see what that plus the Nordys do to my sound.
9. Awesome, Must be good, then! It just looks...a little ugly...Maybe it looks OK on the bass.
10. Cool, thanks. http://www.thomann.de/gb/schaller_3d4_c.htm This one?
11. So how did the bridge affect tone? One thing I think perhaps the Mayones Is lacking is a little sustain, so would be good if it fixes that. I'll let you know when I do the tone comparison with the pickups.
12. Now with some upgraded Warwicky Double-Bucky growly goodness.
13.
Nice playing, sounds great! Same bass as I'm using these days as well, except of course that I've completely modded mine so it's almost completely non-original...!
Thanks guys! Peteb, what have you done to your Jabba? I'm just about to throw in some Nordy SE pickups to get more vintage growl, so I'll upload a tone comparison test then.
14. Cheers! More vids added - now with Warwick $$
15. How do you record your video and sync the garageband audio track? I have MixCraft which is very similar, but haven't found an easy way to record video and audio separately and then mix the two. Cheers, Dave
16. Just a few covers (not 100% accurate - I used a little artistic license using my Mayones Jabba Classic and heavily upgraded Warwick Corvette Double Buck (Nordstrand pre, Delano pickups). All Mayones vids with tone controls set flat and all on the neck pickup so far. I'll post some more videos with more varied tone soon and a tone comparison test pre and post Norstrand SE pickup upgrade. http://www.youtube.c...h?feature=watch Recording was direct into a M-Audio USB interface into VirtualDub. Cheers, Dave
17. Nice! Sounds great mate.
18. Hi there mate. Why are you selling? Not happy with it?
19.
Made in USA in 2003. Lake Placid Blue with dark rosewood board. Excellent condition. Vey light weight at 8lbs 15ozs on digital scales on a level flat solid floor. Looking to trade for other fender basses or even a sadowsky, lakland with either way as required. Please pm with trades Thanks
Hi, Whats with the pickup poles not aligning with the strings? AWESOME looking bass by the way!
20. SOLDSOLDSOLDSOLDSOLD Gorgeous, beefy sounding Ibanez SR705 5 string bass in transclucent black. Huge variety of precise punchy tones. Excellent for metal, rock, jazz whatever you throw at it. Perfect condition apart from bearly there buckle rash. [s]£450[/s] Reduced to clear! £380 including fab Warwick gig bag and strap Dave
21.
and there we go Jack, a quick search on thisforum gets you a Ric 2nd hand for a grand. I was a bit out on the 800quid granted as I got my figures mixed up but still cheaper than 1200 as quoted. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/161710-for-saletrade-1981-rickenbacker-4003-l1000ono/page__p__1462604__hl__rickenbacker__fromsearch__1#entry1462604
Yeah and look at the state of it Id rather have an immaculate 400 quid copy and have bit of fun upgrading it. Also, I quite like the idea of 22 frets. I can see the argument, if a roadworn Rick floats your boat, but Id rather not spend anymore than 400 at this stage
22.
Not convinced, I'm afraid. This Career sells for roughly £400, so another £400 would take you up to £800. See how far you get on the second-hand Rik market if you're only waving £800 about. As I write this, the cheapest second-hand Rik on eBay UK is £1200.
Agreed! An 800 quid 4003 would either be grosdly underpriced or just complete pile of old driftwood
23.
I think that Career is the same as the Shine 'faker. There's quite a few brands out there, but there seems to be relatively few factories making them. When they started popping out of the woodwork a few years ago I was making a mental note of the ones that were identical (or nearly so), but there's getting to be too many for a feeble-brained geriatric like me to keep up!
I think they might share some parts - bridges and possibly pickup surrounds, but the Shine has different pickups - Seymour Duncans, has a dodgy shaped headstock, no binding and uses different woods. The Shine is all maple and a true through neck, whereas the Career has a Nato body and set neck - but doesnt seem to be any worse for it. Infact the career has the better reviews.
