Here's some visual confirmation of an EB-2 inside an Epiphone Jack Casady hard case:
https://www.talkbass.com/threads/case-for-a-gibson-eb-2.577338/#post-10250565
As expected because the EB-2 is short scale and the JC is long scale there's a bit of a gap at the head end, but the body looks snug enough and the neck is still supported.
There are gigbags which fit such basses, but I would think that a hard case would be more appropriate for a older instrument like this, and I suspect that's how you feel also.
Thanks! I was checking out the JCS case but they seem pretty impossible to find anywhere. I do prefer a proper gigbag though, also for my vintage Fenders

So I just bought a vintage Gibson EB2 which is absolutely killer, but it doesn't fit in a regular gigbag (of course). It came in a non-original hardcase which is meant for a long scale acoustic bass, and doesn't exactly fit.
Any ideas where to get a (affordable) case or bag for this classic bass, which gives it the protection and neck support it needs? I read things about the Jack Casady case, would that work (also with the neck support)? -
Question for you Gibson aficionados: when did Gibson introduce the string mute on the EB-2?

I'm not a big fan of sunburst in general but I was very happy to make an exception for this '64 Gibson EB-2 I bought yesterday.

I bought my very first Gibson yesterday. Super chuffed. EB-2 from 1964.

I had the seniors recline on the sofa. You know, them being old and all.

I was wondering if anyone knows about a gig bag that'll fit. I really don't like hard cases, sooooo which gig bag would fit?

I thought my collection was complete. Well, I always had GAS for a vintage Gibson EB-2 but they were way out of my budget. And then I found one online here in NL, for a decent price. Non-original knobs and switch (pots are original), non-original truss rod cover and a non-original case. But boy is this bass amazing. So happy.

Took a pretty long time to get to this mofo.

Honestly no idea, haven't tried a Small Clone. I really like the versatility of the Julia.

Fender JMJ Mustang Bass
New band does a lot of car share gigs so aside from the benefits of reduced weight & size to me personally as the player it will be a lot easier to fit in an already quite chock full motor.
Get one. They're absolutely amazing.
I'm GASsing for an Origin BassRig 64 preamp but I already have a Trickfish Minnow. And it's expensive.

They do a Contemporary version too, which starts at €699, and an Ignition which starts at about €350
I've never tried one, but some of the bass lines on Air's "Moon Safari" were recorded with one if I'm not mistaken and sound great!
I know that, I even almost bought a Contemporary. But when I use my Mustang, my GAS disappears.

Ha, interesting to see this thread at the top again! Because this response by me:
...didn't take long to get fulfilled
It's still an irrational purchase, because I have no use for it outside my home whatsoever, but it's so much fun and easy to play, so well-made and just so cute! I've been playing this almost exclusively since it arrived.
Haha yeah I know the feeling...I started this topic on January 12th, and 12 days later...
But my next GAS object that has no purpose or need whatsoever is a Höfner Club bass. Lucky for me I don't have the funds for it.

Just got this back from the repair shop: a late 70s Epiphone ET-285. It needed a new pickguard, so I got it one Sounds amazing, needs a setup and I might give it some flatwounds. Great, almost Spartan feeling bass.

Whoa, that Valenti looks amazing!

Sooooo I got this amazing Sadowsky MetroExpress five string, and I'd love to give it some more juice with new pickups. I ordered a set of Lollar 5-string pickups, but it turns out they're 4.1"/100 mm for the bridge pickup. Before I take my bass to a luthier for those extra mms, I want to explore what else is available. I know there are Nordstrands that are 3.73" and although they're good pickups, they're not exactly my sound.
Are there pickup makers that build a 3.73" set? Not all makers state the dimensions of their pickups on their website so I was wondering if you guys have experiences to share. -
Probably. I have the same with one of my Sadowsky basses. I currently own six Jazzes and i guess the universe is telling me that's the perfect amount of Jazzes.

But but but a person needs a Jazz Bass in their life🥺
