  1. What gauge do you use mate?
  2. Hi all, My current band is downtuning to D for the singer and my tone sounds shit. Really wooly and undefined. I'm using a Terror Bass and Ampeg 410hlf. Even with the bass rolled off it still sounds boomy. Is it the tuning? OK, I've had no setup and literally downtune before a rehearsal but it sounds bad!! Help!!
  3. Hmmm, nice. And im in Barry!
  4. What would you do??
  5. Hi all, after some advice please. I'm after a Fiesta Red P bass and was looking at the above. My mate, who's a guitarist reckons the Squier Classic Vibe will be very similar, and around £800 less. I think he's wrong but would appreciate any thoughts please. Also, they are new out, so what's the likelihood of used ones coming up for sale anytime soon, with them also being limited edition!! The more I write here, the more I'm thinking of just biting the bullet and buying one!!!!!!
  6. An outstanding example of a 57 Precision bass reissue, made in Japan in 1983. The JV serial number tells you that this is an excellent instrument that will only rise in value. It is in excellent condition, all original and plays and sounds utterly outstanding. No issues at all, apart from a few small scratches, which would be totally expected on a 42 year old bass. The neck plays like butter and overall feels like a Custom Shop bass. Has that classic P bass tone. Reverse tuners. Priced to sell quickly as I need the funds. Comes with gig bag. Collect from Barry in South Wales or you can arrange a courier if too far. Can try out at my home and I'm very confident first to try would buy! Will consider part ex for Red road worn bass.
  7. I agree! Why don't you holiday in lovely Barry Island for a weekend. You could go on the Gavin and Stacey tour too 😁
  8. Two cabs in very good condition. Both 8 ohms so work as a standalone for small shows and rehearsals and as a powerful 4 ohm setup when used together. Perfect modular setup. Will consider trades for larger cab, Ampeg 610 or 410 or similar. New project forces sale.
  9. Last bump before I take her down for good. Must be a really slow market at the moment. This should fly off the shelf at this price!
  10. This is the last time I'll post this guys and the price is firm. Genuine personal reasons for sale which I'd be happy to discuss privately. 11. Back up for sale as I changed my mind but am now commited to selling..... It's still a tough decision though! Can try out at my home and I'm very confident first to try would buy! Will consider part ex for road worn bass, with cash my way.
  12. This is an amazing bass and is in stunning condition for a 1983 made instrument. I have recently aquired it but have decided to sell now as I bought as an investment but I will gig the hell out of her and wreck any chance of long term profit. The bass plays beautifully and sounds amazing and would be my number one but tbh, I've not got a good track record of keeping basses in such pristine condition. My other two basses are both road worn at best!! All original apart from the replacement pickguard but the original is incuded in the sale. Comes with a foam hard case but will need collecting from South Wales. If she doesn't sell at this price I'm going to keep her and gig her as my main bass and the fact that she will be far from showrrom condition in 5 years will be ok!! Any tryouts aremost welcome. This is the best Precision I've played and this isn't a sales pitch. I'll give it a week and if not sold, she's out on the road!! Many thanks, Dave.

  13. Because they all look really ugly? 😁
  14. I've owned some Aria Pros and Stingrays. Have tried loads of basses over the years. This one is very special!
  15. I bought this bass on Ebay recently and am totally blown away. I've owned loads of basses, USA Precisions, Road Worn series, Fender Japan but this trumps them all in my opinion. To me it feels like the perfect bass. I may be being hysterical but I literally can't put it down and have had it for a month now. Wow!!
  16. I alternate between both but always struggle to get my tone right. If I set it for pick, when I play with fingers it sounds boomy and vice versa. I'm starting to think I should just stick to one for the whole set. Any advice?
  17. I hate changing my strings and have consequently had the same ones on both my basses for about two years. I dislike the zingy bright sound new strings give and am wondering if I should just go to flatwounds? Any advice?
  18. I have 2 Orange 112 cabs and want to use my Warwick Gnome to power them. It only has one jack output on it. Can I connect that to one of them and then daisy chain to the other one? Sorry for the naivety, I've never done this before!!
  19. An amazing bass in as new 'road worn' condition. Pure Vintage pickups, best jazz tone I've heard. I'm just a P bass guy so am looking to trade for a RW precision. Burst or Fiesta Red. Based in South Wales.

  20. I have a Sansamp BDDI which is great but I love the sound of the VT Bass Pedal. Would it be worth me getting one and running it with the bass driver or swapping it for the VT Bass DI? Can you use the DI as an effect pedal? I rarely use an amp but when I do I would like to use the effect too! I guess what I'm asking is, what's the main difference between the effect pedal and its DI version? Thanks in advance!
  21. A lovely lighweight cab that punches well above its size. A comfortable carry but powerful enough for rehearsals, small and medium gigs. You could also add another full a banging stack. Has always been looked after really well and never abused. Is in perfect working order but rarely used so time to move on. A lovely vintage type tone and tonnes of room before it starts to complain.
  22. An awesome head in fantastic condition. No issues whatsoever and has served me well in an AC/DC Tribute band which I'm no longer in, hence the sale. Has never missed a beat and has that Ampeg tone heard on so many recordings. Comes in a Gator rack bag which is perfectly functioning and protects the head really well without adding too much weight. Collection from South Wales please. Can be tried out at my home.
  23. An amazing cab that has loads of power and an outstanding tone. 4 ohms so brings the full power of your amp and is suitable for any situation. The cab is lightweight enough to move around easily and has had very little use so is in pristine condition. Comes with a brand new Hot Covers fitted padded cover for protection without added weight. Has castors for ease of movement and looks outstanding on stage with its vintage cloth. Collection only please from South Wales.
  24. I had one of these and sold it as we stopped rehearsing. They're amazing cabs that punch well above their size and weight. My bandmates laughed when I showed up with it, but stopped laughing once I started playing through it.
