  1. god damn it i wish Darkglass would hurry up, i am in desperate need of a compressor. I have used one built into the last few amps i have had and now have switched to running straight into a power amp from the B7K. Feel naked without my compressor and this and the Darkglass are looking to be the only ones i want. Really dont want to buy either without a shootout from someone. ARGH!!! THE PAIN......

  2. Yeah Paul at Zilla is a proper dude and gave me the best customer service i could have asked for. Highly recommended. Cant wait for them to break in a bit more as the tone coming out of them is starting to be amazing. Couple more rehearsals should do it.

I love my 'berg, its taking a bit of a beating at the moment with the amount i am doing with it. Needs a partner to share the pasting!

Yeah i think with any rehearsal studio comes a free scabby sofa!

I have a mate who works for JCB who is liberating me some nice yellow spray so i am going to do a job on the flight case :)

  3. Ok so i have been routing around the whole industry (or what seems like it) for the right setup for me the last few months. Its been a right pain to try and find something that i know is going to work for what i need. I was either going to buy a pair of Mesa Boogie Powerhouse 2x10's or a pair of Bergantino HD210s as i need some decent spec cabs to run my rather powerful TC Electronic Blacksmith. Problem being is that these would cost me an absolute fortune that i didnt really have.

A friend of mine told me to give Paul at Zilla a shout with what i wanted and see what they can offer, i am so glad i did. After a few e mails to and from with what i wanted etc and what they can do, and the fact that he was e mailing me at nearly 10 30 at night talking about them (now thats customer service) and the fact that these custom made cabs were at a fraction of the price of the guys mentioned above, i was totally sold.

So being built for me now are a pair of 4 ohm, 400w 2x10 rear ported boxes loaded with Celestion BL10-200X drivers in the coolest finish i have ever seen!

Cant wait to get them and show you guys what they look like. This rig is going to slay!

    And here it is!!!

First impressions are very very good indeed. Only played them for a few hours so far so the speakers are not bedded in yet at all. They just started to come to life towards the end of the session and they sounded ace!! Really sound like proper grunty Ampeg boxes.

I think i am going to be a happy bunny with these :)

    Will

  4. Hi guys, I recently bought the TC electronic Blacksmith for all my touring needs. It's ace, loud as hell and weighs nothing.

My only problem is that it is designed to run at 4/2 ohms and my Matamp 4x10 is 8ohm(in the for sale section now ;) ) . Plus the amp totally sucks at 8 ohms, feels like it's being choked of all its power.

So I need new cab/s. The plan is to either have 1 cab that is 4ohms which is a beast, I have looked at the barefaced big twin II. That looks the one for me! Or look at 2 2x10s that run at 4 ohms each so if I want to just take one cab if we have a small gig or a gig with a great monitor and PA system I can without my amp being all crappy at 8ohms.

So far I have only seen that Mesa do their 210 at 4ohms (not got 1500 quid to spend on 2 of these!!) and also do Markbass. So my question is, does anyone know of anything else that I could look at to take some punishment?

Also I'd like to stay away from Neo drivers, they feel a bit wimpy with the class D stuff.

    Thanks

  5. GONE! THANKS GUYS

    Gimme £300

Dropped the price to £300 as i need rid to pay for my new cabs i have just ordered. This is a daft price as they are close to a grand new and average second hand price is £400!!!! Some one needs to buy this please!!

Up for grabs is my Matamp 4x10. I love this cab, it sounds killer but i have just bought a new amp (TC Electronic Blacksmith) and that does not like running at 8 ohms, it aint loud enough. So this box has got to go as i cant be lugging 2 big cabs around. It's loaded with the celestion neo drivers (not sure of model). Cracking cab that doesn't weigh too much!

It's in perfect condition, no rips or tears as it lives in the Roqsolid cover that it comes with.

Cab is 8ohms, is 1200w handling weighs roughly 28 - 30kg (i think) and lives in Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire.

    Thanks
