  1. Up for sale is my Yamaha BB614. It was de-fretted by the previous owner and has since been professionally set up (currently strung with Thomastik flats). Plays and feels really nice. Only selling as I'm upgrading. It is a little road worn (see pics) but it's a very well made bass for the money. Would make a great bass if you fancy getting into fretless playing. Looking for £150 collection only (no case or box). Now SOLD. Specs found from a previous sale post of the same bass. Construction: Bolt-on neck. Scale Length: 864mm (34"). Fingerboard: Rosewood. Frets: 21 Large. Radius: 250mm (10"). Body: Alder. Neck: Maple. Tuners: Open type. Bridge: Vintage Style. Pickups: Split single coil, Soapbar single coil. 3 Band EQ.
  2. Hey, I've recently started creating some backing tracks to practice along with, here's a Neo Soul style backing track with no bass. Let me know what you think!
  3. I had the MXR for a while but it had too many controls for my liking. I definitely prefer simple pedals. Thanks for the kind words - that Bromberg piece was a challenge!
  4. Just realised that this should probably be in the 'groove library' part of the forum - oops!
  5. Hey, I recently created a backing track for my bass students to practice some fills/timing. I figured that I would share it here in case anyone fancied trying it out. Let me know what you think!
  6. Hey, so I got round to uploading the track, here's a link and explanation if you feel like jamming along! http://www.alexphillipsbass.com/blog/funk-bass-fills-practice-track
  7. Thanks 😊 - I made the backing in logic, when I get a second I’ll bounce it out minus the bass and share it on here.
  8. Thanks 😊 - they’re killer basses!
  9. So I recorded a short demo track using the filter twin. It's such a killer filter pedal! What do you guys think? Any filter twin fans out there?
  10. Looking for a Digitech bass whammy - message me if you have one to sell.

  11. That seems like a fair price!
  12. Thanks 🙂 I know what you mean, they are quite pricey - I got mine as B-stock although I'm not really sure why as I can't see any mark on it. I've not experienced the sliding on clothes problem yet. I didn't use any effects on that recording although I did use the UA 610-B plug in with my Apollo twin interface and a little compression. Live I just use the built in pre amp.
  13. I've had my Yamaha SLB200 for a little while now and I think it's possibly the nicest EUB I've played - both in terms of the tone and playability. Not long ago I put on some synthetic evah slap strings and I think it gives a fairly convincing old school tone. Here's a short video example. Any other SLB200 users out there? I'd love to know if there are any mods that can give an even more convincing double bass sound.
  14. Sold my Bass Whammy to Antonio a while back. Prompt payment, good communication. Would recommend!
  15. Selling an immaculate NI Maschine Mikro Mk3 - £130 (including UK postage). Bought earlier this year and not being used.
  16. Sold my Sadowsky to Jeff not long ago. Very straight forward transaction, immediate payment. Deal with confidence.
  17. Now surplus to requirements - Hardly used Alesis Q49 Midi keyboard in immaculate condition. Comes with usb cable and thomann gigbag. SOLD
  18. The first lockdown hit me hard, I lost pretty much all my work overnight, amidst this panic and uncertainty I did what any self respecting working bass player would do... panic-bought a 6 string bass! I’ve always loved this track ‘The Mirror’ by Brian Bromberg (who by the way is an incredible musician!) and the 6 string allows me the range to play it. So here’s my version of this track - I hope you enjoy it! For the gear nerds: Cort C6 DR Sunbeams Gruv gear fret wrap Apollo Twin MKII
  19. Temporarily £1400 for quick sale (I’ve seen something that I like!)
  20. Oh man! If my Sadowsky RV4 sells I’m all over this!
  21. Hi everyone, I've recently resurrected my Youtube channel with a bunch of bass related videos. I'd love to know what you think of it and any requests or suggestions for more videos. https://youtube.com/channel/UC30LgjDONyKXPQyqpRX92lA Cheers, Alex
  22. SOLD Hi, Up for sale is my Sadowsky Metro Express (Made in Japan) RV4 Jazz bass in Olympic white. Originally bought from guitarguitar a couple of years ago. It is in excellent condition - as you can see in the photos below. I'm selling as my MV5 covers all my jazz bass needs and I would like to get something a little different. If you are familiar with Sadowsky's you'll already know that they are very easy to play, lightweight and sound incredible and this one is no exception. I'll be sad to see it go but it's not getting used enough to warrant keeping it. Comes with the offical semi-hard case. I'm looking for £1500. Bass is currently strung with DR rounds, here's a couple of clips of the bass in action: With rounds: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fsgyyTFKN-Y With flats: https://www.instagram.com/p/CCNq0OiHxjs/ Weight: 3.7kg Spec: Body Solid Alder Fingerboard Morado Frets 21 Nut Sadowsky Just-A-Nut III Pickups Sadowsky set Controls Volume, pickup blend, treble roll-off (VTC) with pre-amp bypass, bass boost, treble boost Bridge Sadowsky bridge with quick string release Tuners Sadowsky Light machine heads with open gear
  23. Sereks do seem to be quite popular too, I quite like the look of the short scale 5 strings.
