A festival stage manager has asked me what frequency I'd like for my unit. Its a channel 38 Sennheiser G4. He's asking because he's got a number of mics on that channel. I've gone back to him asking him to tell me what to use, does that make the most sense?

Yes, just tell him what band your unit operates on and ask for an allocation. I doubt they’d ask for your licence but if you have a copy to present that’d be handy just in case.

Posted without adding any specs yesterday feels very rude to the very knowledgeable bass community lol so it’s a bass head at 4 ohms and the cab is 8 ohms so another same cab slaved on would be ok ? That’s the last question I promise 😎🎸

Yes, 2x cabs of 8 ohm impedance will present a 4 ohm load to your head. If your head is 4 ohm rated (as you say) then you’ll be spot on.

  3. I bought this cab brand new from Andertons back in the spring. Since then, it’s sat in the corner of my spare room getting occasional noodling use and that’s it!

The Super Twin is *the* one cab solution. As a member of this forum, you probably require no introduction to the wonders it can perform!

Everything works. It’s in flawless condition. It’s the latest generation.

So why is he selling it you ask? Well, I don’t need it. What I do need however is to buy an engagement ring next month. Priorities I guess..

Anyway, 1x hardly used Super Twin up for grabs! Skip the wait time, and avoid the brand new price which is now £1100! Offered to you on here at a mere £900.

I am able to drive a reasonable distance for a meet.

  4. Imagine something with a similar tonality to the SVT-2 PRO with KT88s. Doesn’t need all the controls (if anything the 2 has too many!), but the splitting of ‘gain’ and ‘drive’ onto two separate controls/tube circuits so you can obtain very good clean and very good dirty sounds would be mighty agreeable.

Something like that in a smaller 100W package, with a decent DI, would go down very nicely.

I'd not considered an SVT 2 - it's an option..

They’re a stellar amp. A lot more tone flexibility. Louder. Even better at driven sounds.

I may or may not happen to have one for sale in the classified section..

I had this problem. I bought a set of two cheap Behringer C2 condenser mics, set them up in a X\Y pattern using the dual holder they came with and mounted this to a short stand, placed mid stage. Works a treat.

    This would be my suggestion.
