  1. I have a used Fender Tweed Case by G&G which is for Precision/Jazz basses. I believe it is the deluxe case and not the cheaper pro series case. It has the red poodle interior. It is in excellent condition. I was told that case is from the 80s although I am a bit doubtful about this as it looks newer to me unless it has led a cloistered life.  I am looking to sell this case but have no idea of value as I can't seem to find used items for sale. If any member has any advice on what the case is worth could they send me a pm. I want to advertise the case with a fair asking price hence my enquiry. Please note that I am not trying to circumvent the for sale forums as I have a subscription. Many thanks.

  2. Due to unforeseen circumstances I find myself having to sell my newly acquired Sandberg California II TT4. This bass is in mint unmarked condition. The asking price of £850 includes the excellent Sandberg gig bag and delivery to the UK. Please feel free to ask any questions.

    can any of you good folk help me identify this?

    The Body shape appears to be a Custom (horns too smooth for a classic) , but they don't usually come with those pickups.... and what are those pickups? and the top wood for that matter... maybe quilted maple?

    thanks in advance.

    I stand to be corrected on any of this but you are right in identifying a Custom with (I think) quilted maple. The pups are Delano MC5s.

    My advice, if you plan on using the same strap on several basses is to get the buttons too and keep them somewhere safe. You never know when you’ll need them - take it from me I spent ages trying to find one half and then ages trying to find the other half (different locks) so it might be worth getting the set!

    Good advice. I think I'm beginning to realise that. Thanks!

    I have one of each of these cases, they're both tougher than gig padded gig bags but not as heavy and bulky as a full flight case. Both are well made and fit my TT4 perfectly;

    Protection racket

    Protec Contego

    Both are great cases. If anything I prefer to the cheaper Protection racket one, it's every bit as well made and offers the same level of protection as the Contego but the zip seems a tad smoother and it has adjustable inserts that you can move about that fit into the contours of the bass body to stop it moving around.

    Many thanks for this. I’ll have a look at these.

    No idea about hardcases I'm afraid, both mine live in the Sandberg gig bags they came in.

    Thanks for the reply. I will post pics in due course. I take my pics outside and the weather hasn’t been great. Watch this space.👍
