The only thing you'll lose is the use of the screw on adapter, which are pretty rubbish in my experience. I've had two fail and turn mono.
 

I also hope the tip isn't stuck in a socket somewhere, as that'll be a git to remove

A track came on shuffle, while I was walking the dog. So I started the album from the beginning. I'd forgotten how good they were.

In an interview, Justin Chancellor says he switched from a Stingray to a Wal when he joined Tool and started to record the Aenima album. The weird thing is, the bass sounds on the demos for that album recorded with Justin's predecessor Paul D'Amour sound almost identical to me tone wise - and that was all Stingray.

D'amour playing his Ovation in early days also sounds like every Tool bass sound.

A newsletter from On-U Sound yesterday made me aware of Creation Rebel. So I've been listening to them:

Back at the beginning of 1983, I was a little 10 year old, and a friend of the family gave me and my sister a cassette that we listened to endlessly. This morning the memory of this tape popped into my head, so this morning I'm revisiting it.
