6. I've just got one of these Stagg basses and it seems great but has anyone else had trouble sticking the hip/hand supports in? I cannot get them in and I'm in danger of bending them out of shape trying! Any tips?

 9. Guy Berryman has made around £25 million as co-writer of many of Coldplay's biggest hits. Does that surprise you given his clearly 'limited' role? Oooohhh.....

 11. Hi people, I've used this forum but I've never made the effort to introduce myself, so here I go. I'm Jonathan Hamler, Surrey (Guildford) based electric player. I can play most styles, I read pretty well and I have good gear & own transport. ACM Bass Player of the year 2004. 10 odd years live experience, 5 years teaching experience. www.jonhamler.com Website very basic and in need of tweaking but it's got a few clips of my playing and writing. I'm on the look out for any function/theatre/recording work going (as I'm sure we all are!) - ideally I'd like to join a good working function band. Best Regards, Jon [email protected]

 13. Thanks guys, I appreciate your comments on my playing - unfortunately it's not really being put to use at the moment but it will be soon hopefully The latest is that the singer/main songwriter Kev has left the band although they have yet to update their Myspace page - so it looks like Big Wednesday has hit the end of the line after 6 or 7 years. Seems like a shame but I guess you gotta know when to fold! If anyone has any interesting projects, or any dep/function work going in the Guildford area then I'd love to hear from you. All the best and happy Christmas, Jon [email protected]
 14. I am the recently departed bass player - spent 4 years with these guys on the circuit. A couple months ago I had to get a job on the go to support myself as BW weren't earning (unlike the other guys I don't have the luxury of living with my parents) and it got really hard to fit in all the gigs and rehearsals around my teaching work. Nonetheless, I made every gig and we were rehearsing weekly and recording. Next thing I know, they're looking for someone else. I don't want to sound bitter or regretful, but it wasn't nice how it ended after the amount of time we spent together... so just be wary who goes forward for this! Jon
 15. Hi, I'm based in Aldershot, Hampshire (kind of in between Swindon & Slough?). I'm free on a Wednesday and Friday daytime, so maybe we could work something out if you haven't already found a tutor? I'm 23, been playing half my life.. ex ACM bass player of the year, Rockschool Grade 8 Distinction, bit of an all rounder, loads of band experience. Give us a shout if you're still looking. Cheers, Jon 07725 943626
I'm a guitarist migrating to bass so I'd call myself a beginner and want a few lessons to get me going in the right direction. I live in Swindon and am currently working 3-4 days/week in Slough (I know, I know . . . sucks to be me ) so either location or suitably convenient on the way home (in which case obviously evenings only). If in Swindon could be daytime on days I work from home, or at a push a Slough lunchtime. Any suggestions ?
16.
I believe that the mains fuse in Eden amps is AFTER the on/off switch and power light so if this blows, the amp appears to be on but won't make any noise. Might be worth taking a look....
Woodster, If you are right and all I have to do is change a fuse, you are my new best friend.
 17. My Nemesis 4 x 10 combo has just started doing something really WIERD... When the power is plugged in and the amp is switched off, the power light stil runs kinda half on, slightly flickering.. (very dodgy!) When I flick the switch on, the power light gets marginally brighter but no sound emerges. Not a hum. Has anyone had similar problems or is my amp well and truely screwed? Jon
