  1. The worst is when you play at theatres. I played at the de la warr pavilion in bexhill and left my bass leaning on my (45 degree angled) amp, just as you do. Then go there about 20mins later, thinking all would be fine (as my bass was in pristine condition), pick it up, and the guitarist says 'whao, whats that huge dent in you bass' and i think he's kidding me on, and the rest of the band look at my bass with a kind of 'uh oh' look. I look down to find it looks like someone's dropped a chisel on my bass as hard as they can to leave a nice wood-gash on it. bargh!

    Anyway, I just try and keep my bass as in good a condition as possbile. I know that for the first few gigs i did I'd be there before the gig with it and find a new 'dink' on it and get pre-gig annoyance at whatever inconsiderate twat did that.

  2. They're not half bad these guys:

    (by the way, I don't play with them haha, just thought I'd spread the love)

  3. Remember, GAK in store and gak.co.uk are different companies.

    I bought my usa fender 2008 jazz from them about 10 months ago, got an email from them the next day saying the olympic white was out of stock for another month or so I think, but they had a pearl white in stock so they changed my order for me, and they delivered within a week. Shame no one was in the house and we had to go to the depot in the evening, but the prospect of a brand new jazz was enough to let my dad slip for that :)

  4. Do you have a chorus and/or an EQ? Ad do you have a preamp already? Or a proper amp? Becuase you could do the above with a decent chorus (which you can upgrade whenever), and cheap behringer EQ (about a tenner second hand) and an AB switcher which are about a tenner as well. Then the hartke preamp is very similar tone-wise to the sansamp stuff, and by doing it this way, it takes up more room, but you can adjust everything in the future very easily, and inexpensively. So if you decided the chorus sucked, then you could change it to a coocat, but if you had a sansamp, then you'd need a whole new system and back to square one.

    ok, my bad. Say a post a month? What I mean is, a spambot will either be:

    a) a new member
    :) an inactive member and/or
    c) a member with a low post count.

    I WANT!

    They're used, though, so that cleaning tool had better be good....

  7. wayne do you mean:

    bass 1 -------------------------------------->Input A of switch
    _______________________________________________---->switch ----> amp
    Bass 2 -----> chorus -----> EQ ------>input B of switch

  8. Could always buy another amp and AB it.
    Or, if you have a passive/active inputs, then AB it with the hartke going into the active input, and the clean going into the passive. That way the preamp in the amp wouldn't boost it too much. Not sure about the whole preamp-into-a-preamp thing. :/
