2. Sorry to revive an old thread, but amazed to realise it was nearly twelve months ago the thread was started because our old sprinter was poorly, just realised since then, she has been round the UK coast anti-clockwise twice , as well as many trips to Scotland, south coast, north east, and its still earning its living., sat here trying to remember the last 12 months worth of calamities' but highlights include,, pa pushing the side window out in Yarmouth, window went flying but didn't smash!, good old gaffa tape fix to get us home, ignition switch failure, still not fixed !, soldering iron to the ready!, hit a caravan, got hit up the backside at the toll station on the Humber bridge (no damage to us,, totalled the little van with the idiot driver who was on the phone!), err ripped the back door handle off in a freak unicycle accident, new radiator, glow plugs, starter motor, broke the only ignition key, snapped wiper arm in Glasgow, but, did get round to mending the radio! looking a very tatty old van at min,, but bless her for getting us this far,, and loads to do yet. Sprinters are cool :D

  3. Two fabulous warm up slots at Tamworth Assembly Rooms, Fri and Sat, great crowd to full houses, and taken for a slap up meal by Mr Vasey,,great weekend. wish id booked the Travelodge for the right dates tho,,,,,, doh. suppose if your gonna work for a comedian etc.. :D

That looks suspiciously like Pete Cox on guitar.... and Denise! Known Pete since the late 70s, and Denise from when she was in the Love Bombs. Small world.
Suspicions correct!!,,,,, Just put a load of old Lovebombs pics on Denises Facebook page will find a link for you..the Heart of Glass Blondie tribute and the 80s New Retros are still going stronger than ever.. Well done getting the gig, and good luck with it.

But chubby Brown is about as funny as a baby sucking a razor blade.

Hey did I see you guys playing at Heather Music Festival a couple of years back?
Possibly before I joined the outfit,,, Ive been involved about 4 years now,, the band has been around a long time as "Heart of Glass" not the only Blondie tribute of course, but have done a lot of festival stuff,,,Denise famously asked James Brown to fetch her some toilet roll at Chichester Jazz Fest, cos he was dressed in white and she thought he was a janitor,,walked into wrong dressing room by mistake ! classic...

  8. Yeah, this is a good approach,,, many times I've had an amp on stage, running pretty quiet just to have something behind me,, but most of the bass and mix thru a good monitor,,I love it, engineers like it also,, nothing worse if you have everything running to front of house (out of the pa) than having some loud box on stage bleeding into the FOH mix,, I would happily ditch the amp in these situations.,, talking about good monitoring mind ! :gas: :D

  9.
