  1. Morning folks, I'm on the look out for a Satus carbon neck. Any condition! I'm even interested in broken ones or just photos of broken ones! I'm keen to find out what the inside looks like (hollow? Wood? Other corr material?) I've used carbon on other projects and have some left over...I could make something similar?! 😮😁 www.instagram.com/joseph.martyn.501
  2. Bit of a random question...does anyone know what is inside a status carbon neck? Are they hollow, or is the carbon fabric a laminate on top of wood..or a different core material? Thankyou, any help would be much appreciated! Joe www.instagram.com/joseph.martyn.501

  4. I'll try and take a picture of the electronics, see what folk think?! Cheers, Joseph https://www.instagram.com/joseph.martyn.501/
  5. So my Miller M7 arrived safely from thomann! Really happy with the setup and active sounds are great. I've only just realised in passive mode, the passive tone control doesn't really change anything. I'm thinking a fault with the tone pot...or is it just a really minimal variation in passive mode?! I've double checked the instructions and it's definitely the passive tone pot, it seems to make no change whatever variation of pickups I use. Any others have a similar experience? Cheers! 6. Great knowledge!!! Thankyou!! I'm in the UK and temperatures have dropped recently (scraped the ice off the car this morning!)
  7. It arrived safely! Overall I think I had a good experience! Delivery, tracking and packaging all seemed good. The Sire Miller M7 bass was nicely set up. Good action, 5th, 7th and 12th harmonics positioned nicely above the frets. The frets do feel a bit raised and sharp edges...but nothing major. To be honest I've never bought a brand new bass before so maybe that's normal?! There is a fret buzz from the 1st fret on the G string but probably an easy fix. I've not had the chance to plug in properly yet so I still need to explore the electronics. Wish me luck! Joseph M. 501 https://www.instagram.com/joseph.martyn.501/
  8. Good luck with the sale! I'm also near Edinburgh and have an Ibanez Musician...could do a little duet if you like a promo vid for your amazing bass!
  9. Thanks again! Loving all the feedback, really useful! My bass is on the way!...I'll let you know how it goes

  12. I may have read this too late! Possibly history about to repeat itself...my order is on it's way! Fingers are very tightly crossed!!!
  13. Has anyone bought a guitar from Thomann before? I'm very tempted! But wary about buying without playing it first! Thanks, Joseph instagram.com/joseph.martyn.501
  14. Nice! Sounds amazing! ...but what will I sell so that I can buy one?! Haha! thanks again! Joseph www.instagram.com/joseph.martyn.501
  15. Wasn't sure which thread to ask this in. What are folks thoughts on the Sire Miller M2, M5 and M7? I'm thinking of trying a 5 string, is it worth paying the extra for an M5 or M7? Thankyou! www.instagram.com/joseph.martyn.501
  16. I'm thinking of getting a 5 string. The Sire Miller M range look awesome! Any recommendations or advice? Is it worth spending more for the M5 ir M7?! www.instagram.com/joseph.martyn.501
  17. Thankyou! I'll give it a go. I just cut this out of an old clip to get going...the first of too many!
  18. Ah ha, thanks for the info! Some teething problems! I've just tried viewing it as a guest in mobile chrome and it plays ok, but I guess it fails on other devices?! What's the best way to share clips on here? Thank you!
  19. Hey folks, I'm still finding my way around the site, this might live best here?! I've been luvin all the Ibanez Musician love on here! I'm popping clips on my new instagram: https://www.instagram.com/joseph.martyn.501/ Thought I'd drop this clip in to begin with...as I try to relearn slap! I'm going to keep a little practice log on Instagram (maybe that will help me practice regularly if I set myself regular challenges!) YouCut_20221103_094344692_1.mp4

  21. Wow that's a lot of basses! Glad it went to a good home, I do love knowing the journeys that instruments take and yep, movies, tv, adverts, indie films...anything I could try basically...i was lucky to cross paths with a stunt coordinator working on a music video in Helensburgh. It mainly started through sports I was involved in (high diving, trampolining, aikido) but then one of my sports became the main focus for many years. I guess I've always liked the idea of getting a healthy balance of sport and music in life...brilliant therapy for the soul ! Best look after our bodies and keep playing! Thanks for the welcome back, hopefully I'll make a few videos of my return to playing. are you in a band at all? I see folk post their music on here too, great stuff!!
  22. Hi, thanks yeah they're not light! But no the injury was in a high speed accident. I was training to be a stuntman many years ago, a journey which then took me on many twists and turns! No regrets at all, I got to see a lot of the world, meet amazing people and do things that, looking back, seem like another life. Feels great to be playing again
  23. Right...random thought coming out here... So I'm getting back into playing after a long break and thinking of brushing up on my slap skills! There are far better slappas than me out there...and better knowledge than mine as well!...but I'm thinking of keeping an online practice log as I relearn my old skills (hopefully they come back!). The practice log may actually force me to practice haha! Anyone fancy joining my journey?! I'll post some recordings of progress on here and probably my Instagram as well so that I dont pollute basschat with too much repetitive slap! come say hi if you like https://www.instagram.com/joseph.martyn.501/
