1.
I've owned this bass for 20+ years. Bought it new in the bass centre.

I sold my other Hohner Jack on here last year.

But I now have a status streamline and another on order, so this is taking up space.

Price is £40. If I have to drop it off (Essex) or £30 if you come and pick it up (Chelmsford). I don't want to post this, as I think it needs to be looked at before purchase.

Bass is a stained brown colour, headless design (holds tuning well). This is the passive version and has a great deep dubby tone. Comes with battered guitar case. It also has a pickup holder attached. This was a tickon one, so should come off.

But...it has seen a lot of use, and I should have cleaned it more often. The bass needs a very good clean, and it has general light scratches. The pickup guards screws have corroded and will need work to get off. The pickup selector still works, but the tone doesn't and the volume works with crackle. It has one noticeable knock on the back of the neck, but it's has that for 18+ years and I still passed three grade exams with it.

Any questions, feel free to ask.

    Drew,

I know it says you don't want to post it, but would it be possible for you to pack it up and if I arrange a courier? Been looking for a status-a-like for ages and am quite excited at the prospect of one that needs some TLC.

    Matt

  2.
Thinking about selling my hagstrom hb8 (new model) in transparent red. Looks amazing, plays really well and has a variety of tones thanks to the rail pick ups. It is all original and only about 9 months old. It's in immaculate condition no dings at all and has never been gigged. If theres interest I'll get some pics up, for now any pic you see on the internet will give you an idea but I gotta admit when you see it for real it looks amazing!

I would ship it probably with a hard case if not a gig bag and a box, looking for about £340 inc postage £320 if you collect.
Great bass, but you can get a new one from Thomann for £339. :) I've quite taken to these... do they stay in tune alright?

  3. Here for sale are a couple of effects pedals that I just can't afford to keep! My B2.1 does me well enough.

First off is a Boss SYB-5. There's no manual, box or psu but I'll chuck a battery in if I can find one  Great condition, as new apart from some dust around the controls at the top. I would like £70 inc p&p for this.

Secondly is a really nice but fairly unheard of drive pedal. Its mains powered, but has no box or manual. It's got a single tube in it (a 12AX7A from China) which can easily be changed. This pedal has ridiculous amounts of gain on tap, but you can still get a crunch sound if the gain is low. It also features a two band eq, and a volume control as well. These pedals retail for about £65, so I would like £45 for it inc p&p. Its suited to both guitar and bass, so is a really useful pedal. It has some vlecro strips stuck on the bottom for pedal board attachment.

(Please note I will be listing these on ebay as well, but if someone buys it here I will cancel the auction.)

    Pictures coming up :)

  4. Hi all,

Needing to raise some cash for a purchase, so I'm selling off these cheap but very cheerful basses

First one is a Tanglewood Rebel 5k, a surprisingly good bass. P/J Style, has a lovely sound on it. There is a small amount of neck bow, but the bass is still very much playable and the intonation is good ( the previous owner had the low B tuned up to a D...).

Also have a Ventura 4 string fretless, again a P/J style, really nice sound and looks quite snazzy.

I bought both of these for around £80 each, so it would be nice to get something like that back. I also have a rather battered Ritter bag that I can throw in with one of them. Pictures here:

  6.
I'll think about it, not saying it's a bad bass but I'm looking for a more reputable brand.
Not a problem :) Just let me know.

  7.
YOu've certainly got my attention! Just a few queries though, is the fretless the same make? What colour are they? What's their condition? And how much cash would you be willing to add on top? Obviously pics would be a bonus.

Just updating: its been given a set up and a clean and also restrung with some Ernie Balls I found under my bed (not my favourite brand but better than the dead ones it had one before.) Nice low action, can even get some metal 'clank' out of it if you want.
Right - the 5er is a Tanglewood Rebel 5K. Nice action, a little bit of neck bend but nothing to be worried about, still plays ok. Sounds really lovely (Entwhistle pickups, P/J style).

The fretless is a Ventura (4 string, again a P/J style). Really nice sound, proper fretless "wom", pictures on a post in this thread:

    http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=69115

Both are admittedly second hand, but in really good condition. I've been to a couple of stores and they reckoned they would sell for £100 each, so I'll make up the defecit. I could also throw in a ritter bag.

  8.
try interparcel or click4parcels. the latter is usually cheaper but use the weight calculator in case the volume of the cab is higher than the actual weight.

    I shipped a trace 4x12" down south for £20
Yep. Thanks for that site! Looks like I can get it couriered places for £20. (Anywhere in mainland UK).

  9. Fancy a trade plus a bit of cash for a 5 string? Its a tanglewood rebel 5k. I've also got a 4 string fretless for sale too - they're both fairly cheap. Let me know if anything takes your interest! Sadly this would involve a bit of postage but I'm ok placing my faith with a courier. I haven't had any problems so far...

  10.
Ahahahahahaha! I recognise that!!!

Its a beast of a cab. The only reason I sold it is because its quite deep width-wise, sound-wise its classic Trace Series 6 loveliness! For £120 again I think its a barg.

You wont find much info about it, what little I found out was in this lil` document

    http://www.britishaudioservice.com/inst/SERIES%206.pdf

Hope that helps! Matt is a good man to deal with too :)
Thanks for that!

Anyone know a good and cheap courier to send heavy stuff by? I used parcelmonkey last time and they sorted me out with a £30 delivery charge, but now it's doubled to about £60 as it needs to go onto a pallet... any ideas?

  11.
Thanks Gamester - hope you don't mind, but really want the other bass that I've seen on here so hope the auction gets me closer to the 200 mark. If it doesn't, then maybe we can look at a trade.

    Cheers,
    Mike
Not a problem. Give me a shout if it doesn't sell on ebay!

  12.
Hi Gamester,

Let me have some more info - pics would be lovely - if its the right one then I can always withdraw from Ebay. I have seen a more expensive fretless on here which I've sort of fallen for, but who knows?

    Cheers,
    Mike
13. Hi - I know I'm probs too late but I got a nice light 4 string fretless? I could maybe slip this your way with maybe a little cash if you liked. I don't have a picture of it right now but it is a lovely bass to play, light and has been set up as well, so the intonation is pretty good. Its a slightly sparkling red exterior, all black neckboard and has a P/J pickup combo. Let me know what you think!

  14.
Hmmmmm.... I'm in Edinburgh and North Berwick this weekend and I like the sound of the Trace.... very tempting!! :)

I can't find much info on the 1510. What are the dimensions? Power handling? How old is it? Is it the one that was for sale on Bristol Gumtree before Christmas? What is the impedence if the cab is used full range? 4 or 8 ohms?

Sorry for all the questions!
No worries! It's a fairly large cab - 30in tall, 24in wide, 19in deep. Power handling is 300W. It is one from here sold by Stag - I'll try and pull up some info there. It is an 8ohm cab, I believe.

  15.
The lot... how much for courier?
A courier for the whole lot will be very expensive- at a rough guess I would say over £70. I may also have the Trace cab sold by this Saturday, I'll keep you posted.

  16.
I have a good few options - come and try some stuff.
It will help you figfure out what you want to do.
Would you consider a part exchange of a 1510x against either of the 410 combos? I would come and try but I can't actually drive... :)

  17.
Downsize?
It is a wee bit smaller, but the thick ply cab weighs more than an MDF.
And the 1510X cabs are the same size as a standard 1x15.

Anyway - my plan is to keep the old stack together, now that I have a Mk2 AH500 to biamp with.
It's just an hour away - come and see why :)

I fancy matching your 1510X with the one I have as a biamp rig with the Mk5 AH500. If it works, I could swap for alater 410.
Or you might like to keep yours an dstick an AH350X thorugh it as a biamp rig...?

    Many fun things to consider!
Hmm. Maybe I am looking at the wrong thing. I'm trying to find a combo (decent size, maybe a 2 or 4x10), whilst getting rid of all my bass gear. Got anything suitable?

-> Of course, this means my 1510X is for sale, if you so feel like buying it, or doing a p/x...! <-

  18. After some Deep Thought, I have decided I love my Peavey stuff too much and am keeping it. The Trace is still for sale though... :)

Trace Elliot 1510 - quite an unusual cab, as I haven't seen many of them around. It is essentially a 15" and a 10" speaker in one cab. A great combination as it lets the mids and highs of a bass really shine along with a thundery low that Trace are great for. Connections are via standard speaker cable or XLR, and it is biampable, with a separate panel for connections to the smaller 10". Again, a little bit ratty but still sounds absolutely great. I bought it off here a few months ago, and only really want the £120 I paid for it back, and can get this couriered.

    Thanks!
