1. Posting on behalf of a friend. The original eBay link is here : http://cgi.ebay.co.u...#ht_6277wt_1396 And another link is here : http://www.guitarmar...k/advert/G14527 Unsure how long it will be up for, so I'll also post a link to a gumtree ad when it is created. A great example of a Fender Strat, plays very well and sounds lovely. No rear cavity cover or string tree or tremolo arm. It's been shielded with copper by myself. Drop me a private message and I'll answer any questions you need answered about it.
2. Just had a look on the net, turns out this bass was made in 1986. A great chance to own some (not quite original) history.
3. A couple of images, as promised. If you fancy some more, I can take them in the next couple of days.
4. Having a clear out, looking to move on one of my basses. One of the nicest, slimmest necks I've played on, with a classic P/J combo and active preamp. Made in 1986 (I think). The previous owner has added a tremolo system to this, it's not one of the Kahler style ones, but more similar to the typical guitar tremolo. It works well, has been done nearly and the strings run true. It could do with being recessed into the body, but the action is fine, and is such a giggle. I'm asking £130 plus delivery which is what I paid for it. It will be packed in a ratty soft case and a proper guitar box. It's been set up by Mark in Glasgow as well, great chap who did a fantastic job. Since that, the control cavity has been shielded, and is nice and quiet. Pictures to follow!
5. Hi all - got a well used 410TX to move on. Sounds massive, but is just too big for the flat. The covering is a bit tatty in places, so it's not a pristine example. The tweeter has been removed by the previous owner as it was faulty, I have not missed it at all. A switch has been added by me on the front panel to swap between 8ohm and 2ohm operation (useful if you're using one of Peavey's mega 2 ohm bass heads). All I'm asking for is £75, and I am in the West End of Glasgow. An image can be found here : http://www.gumtree.c...s-cab/101507332 Shoot me a PM and I can get some more images once I get it out of it's hiding place...

10. Thanks everyone, I'm really pleased with how it's turned out. Needs a bit of a tweak to get the MF driver down a tad (haven't stuck that L-pad in yet) but it's a capable little cab. Probably going to either paint it or get some form of covering, haven't really decided yet.
11. After a day of building, the cab is playable. Sounds quite good to my ears as well! The only issue with it is possibly the weight - this will happily vibrate about the floor when played loud enough. Needs some form of finishing, but apart from that it's done!
12. The LA6 turned up yesterday with a warped basket... sending it back today for a replacement. My caps and coils arrived, so I'll get started on the crossover layout. Pictures to follow!
13. I've gone with Blue Aran - they've got cheaper delivery than Lean Business. Just got to wait for it to get here now.
14. Thanks again Dave. Just about to order crossover components - aiming for a crossover frequency of about 1200Hz with a couple of second orders. The wood has been cut to size, just need to get everything fitted. Can anyone recommend a good place to get speakers from? The LA6 CBMR is about £50 online, just want to see what other options are out there.
15. To anyone with experience of HF drivers - is it worth splurging the extra for the LA6 CBMR, or would I notice little difference with the standard Alpha 6?
16. I've looked at the BFMs. The designs are really awesome, but to be honest I don't think the driver I have at the moment will really do it justice. Sadly I don't have the kind of spare money to grab one of the 2510s. I'll consider doing one in the future, when I've got the funds available, as I have heard nothing but good things about them. This'll mainly be for swing and jazz playing, so the HF will hopefully give me a little more sparkle...
17. I'm using the GB Shuttle in my sig, the 6.0.
18. @ Stevie - yeah, I would have preferred a single port, but I was having difficulty finding one the right length. I quite like how the dual ports look(!) and I don't think I'm going to get too much port velocity from this one. Of course, please correct me if I am wrong! Totally new to this. If I could get a 10 with higher xmax, then I may well use that instead. The Gamma was only £25 so I thought I would give it a go. Also, the datasheet I have shows the xmax to be closer to 2mm (perhaps a difference between the Gamma 10 and the 10A?) A first or third order crossover looks relatively simple to implement, I have a spare one from my old Peavey cab I can try and see how that sounds. I'll bump that tuning up. @ Dave - An L pad will be put on with the midrange. Thanks for the heads up on the crossover!
19. @Edward Himself - yeah, not sure whether to go for carpet or tolex for this one. @charic - well, if it all goes wrong I could always stick a radio in it
20. Hi all! After finally realising that my 410TX is just too heavy to move about on my own, I've drawn up plans to make a smaller and lighter cab. Originally this was going to be a simple 1x10 (an Eminence Gamma 10A) in a box, but as with everything I do it seems to have grown to include a 6 inch HF driver (an Eminence LA6-CBMR) and a couple of ports. A custom crossover is in the works, and I'll post more pictures when I can, but for now here's an incomplete view of the CAD model, the WIN ISD plot and I'll get to shopping... To the seasoned builders out there, this is my first design from scratch, so any comments would be greatly appreciated! Matt
21.
No problem at all. Before I got the GB gig bag I used my wifes laptop bag so yes that should also work for you.
Excellent. You have a PM.
22.
I am afraid it never came with a carry bag. So I did buy the Genz Benz one which I used but I was going to keep it for my Shuttle 9. Not sure if this is off interest to you but £400 including postage and carry case would make me happy
Cool. I did me some googling and I reckon it'll fit in a laptop bag or something similar, so that'll do I'm keeping my eyes out on one of these on eBay, but you may well hear back from me rather quickly! Thanks.
