1. Bloody great show. We were about 10 rows back, dead centre. Sound was OK (for the Arena, which is an awful shed) and the setlist was great,

Alex had problems throughout the first half (nothing I could hear) but he warmed up a bit during the second half.

Not much criticism other than my ears are buzzing, and Alex needs to use less Gibsons (they all sound the same.. mushy).

  2.
I thought it was brilliant, quite a few surprise tunes such as "Natural Science", "Entre Nous" and "Passage to Bangkok".
Just as well I know the set list already, innit?
    :)

    It was a Jaco relic...

  3. I'm seeing 'em tomorrow.

I know the setlist, and I think it'll be great. The new album is is mint, so no complaints from me.

The last tour was all about the old stuff... they got it out of their system.

  4.
Tried it with my 50's Precision (bloody great bass - I'm selling off all my other Precisions and am just keeping this - can't believe how good they sound), a BB2000 (of course!), a Japanese jazz (JB65) and a couple of my mates instruments (an 80's precision and an Ibanez Blazer??). Oh - and a BB1500.

Bugger all hum. (WOT - if your replacement still hums when it arrives insist on having it swapped out again.)

If the rumour of a new high power Neo amp is true I think it'll blow away the Eden/Mark bass/AI/EA gear. Pity their European sales channels aren't that good - they should go through thomann or similar. I've been trying to get a bag for the Neo-Pak in the UK and they prices asked are comical for something that costs $30 in the US.
Cheers BB... that's incredibly useful. I've sent you a PM.

You're right... a high-power Neo would be great.

  5.
Yeah Stop drooling there boy!

Sheilding passives is a good idea anyway, whatever happens ...
    OG
The hum I've been getting is above and beyond 'normal' unshielded bass hum... I've tried it with a shielded bass (one of Warwickhunt's.. er... Warwicks) and the hum was still noticeable, albeit not as bad.

It's incredibly frustrating as it's clearly a great head. It's just allergic to me, it seems...

  6.
You have a point in that it's hard to find -- however, in the FAQ section you will find this:
Thomann Cyberstore FAQ List

    How Can I pay?

    ...blather blather blather...

    Credit card:
When ordering you state your type of credit card (we accept Visa, American Express, Eurocard, Mastercard, Barclaycard and Diners) and we debit the sum from your credit card account for the available goods at the date of shipping.

When paying by credit card please always use our Secure Server which is transferring encoded data.
If the Server does not work with your browser or company network please send us a short note and we will call you back for the credit card details.

Please note that our invoices will be in Euros and reflect the exchange rate of the day at www.oanda.com. Your credit card company may be giving you a slighly unfavourable exchange rate, and sometimes UK card companies make a small commission charge from Pound to Euro conversions.

Please check with your card company if in doubt.

With larger sums it may be much more cost effective to use a bank transfer.

Thatcovers them!

To be fair, they should make it clearer that GBP prices are provided for guidance only.

  7.
Just as a side issue, when I feel i'm at a standard where I can hold my own with other muscians, where do you actively find muscians of a similar standard/age who want to make a noise together?
As has already been mentioned, buskers nights / open mic nights / jam nights are a breeding ground for bands of all levels.

FWIW, I'm like Sean - I get cranky if I go for three or four nights without a gig. I've been like that for years...

  8.
if it's anything like the time I saw them at the MEN Arena, I'd take some earplugs
I saw them there on the R30 tour and it sounded great where I was... you just never know what you're going to get at them gigs. It's all down to your seat number.
